Those who have not heard?
« on: May 18, 2008, 09:30:02 PM »

Hi Ray,
Here is a point to consider:

How do we account for all those who have not heard the word of God.  By the very basis of evangelical belief they MUST go to hell.  Consider all those many generations of Native Americans, hundreds of thousand if not millions of souls, in hell for not believing in a Jesus they have never heard.  They were too far removed from hearing the word, but wait just one minute Acts 17:26

And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation

Here we see that God determined where everyone would live.  If there is no recourse for these people why would God place them so far from the ambit of the word of salvation?

Dear Bertram:  Actually many Christians say that those who have never heard do have a chance at salvation. I critiqued a damnable sermon by the late Dr. James Kennedy on "What About Those Who Have Never Heard." He states that if they live perfect lives, they WILL be saved WITHOUT going through Jesus Christ. In such cases I guess God makes a few billions of exceptions to the rule that there is but ONE NAME UNDER HEAVEN BY WHICH WE MUST BE SAVED (Acts, 4:12). John Hagee teaches that the Jews of Israel can all be saved WITHOUT going through Jesus Christ, and even by DENYING HIM.  Go figure. Such Christians have no use for the Scriptures.
    God be with you,
    Ray
