Stevernator:
Luke 17:21
nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you."

Hello everybody

Do we really catch the weight of these verses?

Luke 17:20-21
20 And when the Pharisees had demanded of Him when the Kingdom of God should come, He answered them and said, "The Kingdom of God cometh not with outward show. [brings to attention outward show of prayer, outward show of religiosity (like wearing verses, i mean come on now), outward show of doing good deeds]
21 Neither shall they say, 'Lo, it is here!' or 'Lo, it is there!' For behold, the Kingdom of God is within you."

Okay, I know a lot has been mentioned about being/doing things inwardly. I also understand why. But the 100 year reign is inward as well? I may have missed something. Maybe I'm confusing the kingdom of God with the kingdom of heaven. Please help

Hello Kweli,

I believe the kingdom of God and kingdom of Heavens are one in the same. This transcript from one of Ray's audios should help as well as the direct audio if you have the bandwidth to download. All throughout, Ray uses the 2 terms interchangeably.

A very simplicity answer that I think may help, is the Kingdom is Jesus Christ and all that is His - the Elect.  Jesus Christ and the Father are One - God, therefore kingdom of God which is the way it is put in Scripture mostly, it is also referred to as;

kingdom of Christ and of God (Eph 5:5)
kingdom of their Father (Mat 13:43)
kingdom of His dear Son (Col 1:13)
kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2Peter 1:11)

All these mean the same thing.

The kingdom of heaven is God's realm or domain.  The 1000 yrs reign will be when Jesus Christ brings the kingdom to this earth (the people of this world) to reign and rule, this will be judgment.

Isa 26:9  With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

You really do need to study 'What Is The Gospel Of The Kingdom?' to get a full understanding of this.

Hello Kat and Marques

Thank you for elaborating on that point. I think I have to rephrase my question as it may have come out wrongly. I went through 'What Is The Gospel Of The Kingdom' a couple of times already. I did a search for Luke 17 in both papers, just to see if I had really missed it. I couldnt find the verse in there. My question is, since we know that the 1000 year reign is not inward but it will be judgement time when the inhabitants of the world will be learning righteousness, what does Luke 17:21 mean? I was trying to make a distinction between the kingdoms to sort of make sense of this verse but I realize that's a bad move. The truth is, based on my study on the kingdom of heaven and the parables and the judgement and the reign, this verse sort of throws me off a bit.

I hope I was clearer with my question today
