What Price Love

(1/3) > >>

Roy Monis:
Hi! All.

This poem was written for us all as a last request from a young girl with 6 months to live, terminally ill with cancer. I don't know her and for all I know, she may not be of our persuasion but does that matter? I love her as I know you do to. She needs our prayers. Please give her a thought in yours. Thank you.

A last request to as many as can be reached, to reflect her love for us all.

 SLOW DANCE

Have you ever watched kids

On a merry-go-round?

Or listened to the rain

Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?

Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down.

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

Do you run through each day

On the fly?

When you ask How are you?

Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done

Do you lie in your bed

With the next hundred chores

Running through your head?

You'd better slow down

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

Ever told your child,

We'll do it tomorrow?

And in your haste,

Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,

Let a good friendship die

Cause you never had time

To call and say,'Hi'

You'd better slow down.

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere

You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day,

It is like an unopened gift..

Thrown away..

Life is not a race.

Do take it slower

Hear the music

Before the song is over.

Thank you. At just 16 years of age she will see these wonders of God no more.

God bless you my brothers and sisters in our joint walk in Christ.

Love in Christ Jesus.

ellie77:
Very touching Roy......thank you....will pray.... yet the plans of our Lord will be the greatest song and most wonderful dance even though this one ends......Ellie........peace to all....

ez2u:
may we live each day as Jesus told us to do taking one day at a time.  our minds hurry us through and its harder to look at what we are doing.  This angel of the Lord spoke well  Peggy

Heidi:
What a wonderful poem.... it is funny that it takes a 16 year old to reflect on life this way where older people may never grasp the wisdom of the words.  May God bless her for blessing us.

Craig:
The poem may be nice but the premise is a hoax.
