Pini56:
Hello Jaylo03. Here is a Word for you.

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6.

You are in my Prayers. With Love.

jaylo03:
Thankyou Pini56.  It's hard to know what to concentrate on sometimes.

Hi Jaylo,

--- Quote ---I have some dear friends who are truly fixed about tithing.  They have tithed all their church life, and they are now pensioners and are still paying tithes to their pastor.  I've only known them for a few months.  It is such a delicate issue with them, I have no idea how to break the ice with them.  I am praying about it, but you guys may have some ideas you could suggest.

Giving these people a copy of 'Tithing is Unscriptural Under the New Testament Parts I and II' would not be the way to go about it.  It needs to be a very gentle approach over a period of time because they are not willing to see it any other way.

Should I start a new thread somewhere else about this?
--- End quote ---

You might want to start a new topic with this, because most people probably will not come here and see your question.

I will say that you know thes people and if you feel the soft approach is the best, then that's the way you should go.  Some people can't take getting hit in the face with all these Scriptures and just withdraw totally from what you are trying to tell them.

So I would say you might can share what YOU have learned about giving money to the church.  If they have not heard any of the truth, they might not respond well to bashing the church.  So you could come from the perspective that it's good to give if you can, but it is not commanded.  Then you could show them Scriptures that back up what you are saying.  This may instigate questions that you can use to get in more details.

But that is just what I think.  So do post a question and you will get a lot of responses to help you out  :)

mercy, peace and love
