I read a discussion about this in a thread somewhere recently, but I can't find it. Ray answers the question about Matt 27:52. I remember the question was asked if Matt 27:52 was a contradiction with Hebrews 9:27
--- Quote ---Now consider Matt 27:52, some saints arose from the grave after Christ resurrection. So does it seems these saints lived twice and died twice?

Matthew 27:52
52The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life.
Hebrews 9:27
27And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Ray's answer
--- Quote ---Notice that it doesn't say, "And as it is appointed unto men, once to die ONLY, and after this Judgment." No, it does not limit dying to only "one" dying, but it does state that dying ONCE is necessary before one will enter judging. So there is no contradiction in this verse with those stating that no one has gone to heaven or that "ALL THESE DIED [including Enoch, verses 5-6, and Elijah, who was one of the "prophets," vese 32] in faith, NOT having received the promises..." (Heb. 11:13).

Hi M.G.
I ran across this from Job as well;
Job 33:29 "God does all these things to a man—
twice, even three times-
Job 33:30 to turn back his soul from the pit,
that the light of life may shine on him.
Peace,
Joe

Hi M.G.,
This email answer from Ray was one of those that gave me a new revelation of understanding, once again. There are no contradictions in the scriptures; only our lack of understanding.
The email replies are an additional teaching method for us. These emails are sent to the forum for our benefit. I thank God for all the ways He continue to open our understanding!
Thanks for bringing this one forward.
René

Joe that for some reason reminded me of:
Luk 12:38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find [them] so, blessed are those servants.
i do know of two times the lord has visited me to turn me around so to speak!

Hi Chuck,
Great addition and they certainly appear to fit together quite nicely, we probably would not hear these verses quoted together in very many churches.... ;)
Peace,
Joe
