indianabob:
Matt,
Congratulations on your new responsibilities,
I haven't been paying attention, but last I heard you and your family were in the Pacific.
Have you already shared any details of your recent move to California that would be of general interest?
Did a nice promotion to Sergeant Major come through for you?
Or are you perhaps a Colonel by now?
In any case, if you're happy we're happy for you.

That would be VERY nice ;D, but I am only a Gunnery Sergeant.
I hope to be promoted to Master Sergeant this Dec.
Either way, I am really enjoying my new duty station here in the desert. I live right across the road from Joshua Tree National Forrest. This is an amazing and beautiful area, especially in the spring when the flowers bloom. I will post some pictures when I get more settled in. My furniture is still somewhere between here an Japan ???
I work as a Chief Instructor, teaching Unix and Windows System Administration (computer Geek stuff) to entry and advanced level student Marines. I spend most of my time ensuring the other instructors are doing their job though. I have been so busy learning my new job, I have not been to the forum as much as I would like :o. I am not too worried anymore because I now know the Lord so much better than the Babylon days. I can see much more clearly, and I understand His will, etc... It gives me great peace!

Are we allowed to address you as Gunny? ;D
I've been racing in your area (kinda) several times this year; Victorville, CA and Perris, CA. They have dirt track motorcycle racing (Flat Track bikes and Speedway bikes) and I've been expanding out form the local scene here in Phoenix.
Next time I'm headed to Victorville, I'll give you a shout. Come watch the crazy racers slide sideways around the track.
Matt:
Patrick,
That sounds like fun! Victorville is just on the other side of Big Bear, I think ???
Please do let me know next time you go. I would definitely consider going to see the races with the family :)
Matt
