Dear Larry: Sometimes I think that our understanding of the Scriptures is somewhat like spring cleaning our homes. A few hours into cleaning and things look worse than before we started, but just when it looks like things will never find their proper place, things begin to look better and better until finally all is orderly and beautiful. God likens His truths to finding hidden treasures in a field--we have to get our hands muddy before we find the gold and silver.
