Hey guys, were always talking about Doctrins, and Gods word, and that is awsome it truly is, but how about we fellowship as friends and fellow believers in the risen Christ.

Lets share some of our favorite songs and the lyrics to them! You can even say why you love these songs so much or coment on other songs etc, this is a fun thread!  However one rule, lets keep it 1 song per post (Lyrics included) as to keep the posts from getting to long!

Ill start!

My favorite song by far is this one because it talks about Jesus for who He really is, and i never fully grasped this song and realised the deep truths to it until i was draged out of babylon and to Christ Himself!

Mark Schultz - I am

I am the Maker of the Heavens
I am the Bright and Morning Star
I am the Breath of all Creation
Who always was
And is to come
I am the One who walked on water
I am the One who calmed the seas
I am the Miracles and Wonders
So come and see
And follow Me
You will know

Chorus:
I am the Fount of Living Water
The Risen Son of Man
The Healer of the Broken
And when you cry
I am your Savior and Redeemer
Who bore the sin of man
The Author and Perfecter
Beginning and the End
I am

I am the Spirit deep inside you
I am the Word upon your heart
I am the One who even knew you
Before your birth
Before you were

chorus

Bridge:
Throughout the Earth (I AM)
The Universe (I AM)
In every heart (I AM)
Oh, where you are (I AM)
The Lord of Lords
The King of Kings
The Holy Lamb
Above all things

Yes, I am Almighty God your Father
The Risen Son of Man
The Healer of the Broken
And when you cry
I AM your Savior and Redeemer
Who bore the sins of man
The Author and Perfecter
Beginning and the End -
I AM

Here's one of my favorites:

Artist: Petra
Album: Petra Praise 2: We Need Jesus
Song: Lovely Lord

You are filled with compassion and mercy and grace
With Your banner of love over me
I am longing to see You one day face to face
And to be with You endlessly
Lord, how lovely You are to me

(Chorus)
Lovely Lord
You are all to me
Lovely Lord
Full of purity
Worthy of honor and majesty
Lord, how lovely You are to me

You are bright as the sunrise and fairest of all
Unto You all the glory will be
You are God of creation and Lord of my life
I will worship You faithfully
Lord, how lovely You are to me

Repeat Chorus

We will worship the name of the Holiest One
We will worship Your excellency
We will give You the glory
For things You have done
And be thankfully eternally
Lord, how lovely You are to me

Repeat Chorus

Lord, how lovely You are to me

Great Idea, I write and sing Christian Parody music with Karaoke background tracks, here is one of my favorites based on "STARRY, STARRY NIGHT" Enjoy Bretheren!

                          Jesus Is the Light

Jesus is the light
He loves all of humanity
He showed his love at Calvary
When he died for you and me
The mountains and the hills
He made the trees and the daffodils
The morning breeze, the winter chills
With eyes on you and me

CHORUS:
Do you understand what the Lord has done for thee
And how he suffered for your sanity
And how he came to set you free
You did not listen
You did not know how
Perhaps you’ll listen now

Jesus is the light
He made the flowers, the nights and days
The Sun and Moon, our starlight gaze
With eyes on you and me
He colored all the land
It’s all been done by his hand
He made the morning and the sky
For all of us he died

REPEAT CHORUS

Did you know he loves you
And that his love is true
And when no hope was left in sight
On that starry starry night
He gave himself so we could be renewed
But I would have told you my friend
This world was made for one as beautiful as you

Jesus is the light
He came down here to set us free
To give us life eternally
His gift is for all that will come
He redeemed us of our sin
He cleansed our soul, we’re born again
To give his spirit to all of men
So that we could understand

Now I think I know
What he tried to say to me
And how he suffered for the victory
And how he came to set us free
We did not listen
We did not know how
Perhaps we’ll listen now........

The Sharing Song Lyrics

It's always more fun
To share with everyone
It's always more fun
To share with everyone
If you have two
Give one to your friend
If you have three
Give one to your friend and me
It's always more fun
To share with everyone
It's always more fun
To share with everyone
If you've got one
Here is something you can learn
You can still share
Just by taking turns
If you've got a ball
Bounce it to the gang
If there is a new kid
Invite him out to hang
If you've got one sandwich
Cut that thing in half
If you know a secret joke
Tell it and share a laugh
If you've got two drumsticks
Give one to your friend
Make one beautiful rhythm
Share a beat that never ends
And if you're feeling lonely
Share time with your mom
Share some milk and cookies
And sing the sharing song
It's always more fun
To share with everyone
It's always more fun
To share with everyone :P

Blackhawk
» Let 'em Whirl

(Henry Paul/Van Stephenson/Greg Jennings)

Whirlwind running through my head
Wasted words that people said
The wind is howling at my door
I don't listen anymore
The darkened sky blocks out the sun
Still reeling from the damage done
If I go out and chase that wind
I might not make it back again

(Chorus)
Let 'em whirl, who am I to say
You gotta do things different
I know a better way
Let 'em whirl, there's a child in everyone
Who's got to ride the storm out
To see who'll they'll become
Let 'em whirl

The simple things are hard to see
I got you and you've got me
No cause left for us to fight
Being wrong's a God-given right

(Chorus)

We all learn the hard way
We can't pretend to know
Where life is gonna lead us
Or which way the wind will blow
Let 'em whirl

(Chorus)

good one becky, ill do one more,

Jack Johnson Lyrics

Lullaby Lyrics

(feat. Matt Costa)

When you're so lonely lying in bed
Night's closed it's eyes but you can't rest your head
Everyone's sleeping all through the house
You wish you could dream but forgot to somehow
Sing this lullaby to yourself
Sing this lullaby to yourself
And if you are waiting, waiting for me
Know I'll be home soon darling I guarantee
I'll be home Sunday just in one week
Dry up your tears if you start to weep
And sing this lullaby to yourself
Sing this lullaby to yourself
Lullaby, I'm not nearby
Sing this lullaby to yourself
Don't you cry, no don't you cry
Sing this lullaby to yourself
Cause when I arrive dear it won't be that long
No it won't seem like anytime that I've been gone
It ain't the first time it won't be the last
Won't you remember these words to help the time pass?
So when you're so lonely lying in bed
Night's closed it's eyes but you can't rest your head
Everyone's sleeping all through the house
You wish you could dream but forgot to somehow
Sing this lullaby to yourself
Sing this lullaby to yourself
Sing this lullaby, sing this lullaby
Sing this lullaby to yourself

Here's another based on James Taylor's  "Carolina in my Mind"

â€œThe Lord Is a Refiner in Our Mindsâ€?

VERSE 1
In my mind the Lord is our provider
Can’t ya feel His Spirit flow
He’ll be with you wherever you go
He’s more than just a friend of ours
   He won’t leave us behind
Yes the Lord is a refiner in our minds

Jesus Christ the Son of God
   The Saviour of the world
He came here to save us all
He loves the boys and girls
And the Lord is a refiner in our minds

   Father God sent His Son
   To set the captives free
He shed His blood for all of us
   On the cross at Calvary
And the Lord is a refiner in our minds

   Repeat Verse 1

   He came here without remorse
He loves us all so much
Stretched out hands to the whole world
   Just feel His Heavenly touch
Yes the Lord is a refiner in our minds

The Lord came here to set us free
   For all eternity
Receive Him now be cleansed of sin
   And you’ll be free indeed
Yes the Lord is a refiner in our minds

   Repeat Verse 1

Nothing Is Beyond You
by Rich Mullins

1. Where could I go, where could I run,
Even if I found the strength to fly?
And if I rose on the wings of the dawn,
And crashed through the corner of the sky,
If I sailed past the edge of the sea,
Even if I made my bed in hell,
Still there You would find me.

2. If I should shrink back from the light
So I can sink into the dark,
If I take cover and I close my eyes,
Even then You would see my heart.
And You'd cut through all my pain and rage;
The darkness is not dark to You--
And night's as bright as day.

CHORUS:
Nothing is beyond You;
You stand beyond the reach
Of our vain imaginations,
Our misguided piety.
The heavens stretch to hold You,
And deep cries out to deep
Singing that nothing is beyond You;
Nothing is beyond You.
Time cannot contain You;
You fill eternity.
Sin can never stain You,
And death has lost its sting,
And I cannot explain the way You came to love me
Except to say that nothing is beyond You,
Nothing is beyond You,
Nothing is beyond You.

Rich Mullins is my inspiration, and by reading some of his writings, he got me to question what my church has always taught me. God used that quest to lead me to His truth.

cant stop posting here loved ones '-]

(Michael Card & John Thompson)

[Chorus:]
El-Shaddai, El-Shaddai [means "God Almighty, God Almighty"]
El-Elyon na Adonai [means "God in the highest, Oh, Lord"]
Age to age, You're still the same
By the power of the name.
El-Shaddai, El-Shaddai
Erkamka na Adonai [means "We will love You, Oh, Lord"]
We will praise and lift You high
El-Shaddai

Through Your love
And through the ram,
You saved the son
Of Abraham.
Through the power
Of Your hand,
Turned the sea
Into dry land.
To the outcast
On her knees,
You were the God
Who really sees.
And by Your might,
You set Your children free.

[Chorus]

Through the years,
You made it clear,
That the time of Christ
Was near,
Though the people
Couldn't see
What Messiah ought to be.
Though Your Word
Contained the plan,
They just could not understand,
Your most awesome work was done
Though the frailty of Your son.

[Chorus]

This is something that I have checked into and here is some info on it if interested!

Actually, in 1994, in a case involving 2 Live Crew's parody of "Oh Pretty Woman" by Roy Orbison,  the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that parodies can be a "fair use" of an original song, requiring no permission or royalties.  One of the main points the Supreme Court made was that when a parodist significantly changes the words and meaning of an original song to spoof it, the parody becomes a new work -- even if it uses the music of the original.  And that to do a parody of a song, you need to use at least some of the music of the original to "conjure up" the original.  You can't have a parody without having elements of the original in that parody.

Now, that doesn't mean a person can come along and just change a word or two and call it a parody or a new song.  Furthermore, a person can't just steal the melody of a song and use totally different words that don't spoof the original in some way; the Supreme Court laid down some specific guidelines. Here's the link for the website that shows the entire transcript from Supreme Court ruling so you can read it yourself:

I love the angelic harmonies in this song

Shout To The Lord – Darlene Zschech

My Jesus, My Savior
Lord there is none like you
All of my days, I want to praise
The wonders of your mighty love
My Comfort, My Shelter
Tower of refuge and strength
Let every breath, all that I am
Never cease to worship you

(Chorus)
Shout to the Lord, all the earth
Let us sing. Power and majesty, praise to the King.
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of your name
I sing for joy at the work of your hands
Forever I'll love you, forever I'll stand
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You

My Jesus, My Savior
Lord there is none like you
All of my days, I want to praise
The wonders of your mighty love
My Comfort, My Shelter
Tower of refuge and strength
Let every breath, all that I am
Never cease to worship you

(chorus X2)

Nothing compares to the promise I have in
Nothing compares to the promise I have in
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You
