Two of my very favorite songs...

[KristaD]

These two songs are like man's question and God's answer

From Todd Agnew's Better Questions album, it's so good the christian radio station won't even play it .

Can I be with you   By Todd Agnew

Everybody each and all, we're going to die eventually
It's no more or less our fault than it is our destiny
So now, Lord, I come to You, asking only for Your grace
You know what I've put myself through,
All those empty dreams I chased

And when my body lies in the ruins of the lies that nearly ruined me
Will You pick up the pieces that were pure and true
And breathe life into them and set them free?
And when You start this world over again from scratch
Will You make me anew out of the stuff that lasts?
Stuff that's purer than gold is and clearer than glass could ever be
Can I be with You?
Can I be with You?

Everybody all and each, from the day that we are born
We have to learn to walk beneath
Those mercies by which we're drawn
Now we wrestle in the dark with these angels that we can't see
We will move on although with scars
O Lord, move in me

And when my body lies in the ruins of the lies that nearly ruined me
Will You pick up the pieces that were pure and true
And breathe life into them and set them free?
When You blast this cosmos to kingdom come
When those jagged edged mountains we love are gone
When the sky is crossed with the tears of a thousand falling suns
As they crash into the sea
Can I be with You?
Can I be with You?

And when my body lies in the ruins of the lies that nearly ruined me
Will You pick up the pieces that were pure and true
And breathe life into them and set them free?
Will you set them free?
Will you set them free?
Can I be with you?
Set me free

I've been waiting    By Todd Agnew

I've been waiting to dance with you
In fields full of colors you've never seen
I've been waiting to show you beauty
You never dreamed that's always been in you
I've been waiting to see you tremble as you're embraced
By a world saturated with my love
I've been waiting for the day when at last I get to say
My child you are finally home

Sing O son of Zion
Shout O child of mine
Rejoice with all your heart and soul and mind
For you are finally home

I've been waiting to watch you realize
What all your longing was for
I've been waiting to show you the thread of grace
That ran through all your pain
I've been waiting to let you drink the water of which
Your greatest joy on earth was just a taste
I've been waiting for the day when at last I get to say
My child you are finally home

Sing O son of Zion
Shout O child of mine
Rejoice with all your heart and soul and mind
Sing O daughter of Zion
Cry out O child of mine
Dance with all the strength that you can find
For you are finally home

Every tear you cried dried in the palm of my hand
Every lonely hour was by my side
every loved one lost, every river crossed
Every moment, every hour was pointing to this day
*I've been longing for this day*

And I've been waiting to dance with you
In fields full of colors you've never seen
I've been waiting to show you beauty
You never dreamed that's always been in you
I've been waiting to see you tremble as you're embraced
By a world saturated with my love
I've been waiting for the day when at last I get to say
My child you are finally home

Sing O son of Zion
Shout O child of mine
Rejoice with all your heart and soul and mind
And sing O daughter of Zion
Cry out O child of mine
Dance with all the strength that you can find
for you are finally home
