After briefly looking into the history of the word Church, the connection between the harlot and circe seems strong. But one thing worries me.

Doesn't comparing history (physical things) with the Scriptures neglect one of the most important study rules--comparing spiritual with spiritual?

PS. Do any of you have more info on the word Church, and the history of the pagan God, kirke?
