Hi there, let`s try this one I don`t even know where it is but I have never forgotten exactly what it says, He who soever findth a wife findth a good thing he also findth FAVOR with the Lord. In other words to me this means, no wife, no nothing from the Lord, yikes, sounds like I might be just wasting my time with all this, God knows a wife in my life is impossible. There are many men out there that are in the same boat. Jesus had no wife, so why do I need one, He found favor with God. >:( Ricky

I Cor. 7:8 And I say to the unmarried and to the widows: it is good for them if they may remain even as I am.
Actually, that whole chapter is the best, most explicit teaching on the subject I've found. It's a great read, especially if you have imagination. I can almost SEE Paul struggling with what to say here. Sometimes it clear commandment, somethimes it's Godly wisdom. It's all worth it.
I've always gotten a kick out of the verse that says it is better to marry than to burn. Might be just slightly better, sometimes. ;D
As for poor unmarried Dave, my standards preclude changing this in the near future. I would never think of marrying any woman who would debase herself enough to marry the likes of me.

Thx. Dave, now I get it, married people need all the help they can get with the favor part, verse has nothing to do with me. Beloved if you see me at the wedding I will be the one cleaning the toliets if God allows dumb people in. Ricky
