a thaught
« on: September 15, 2008, 10:25:15 AM »

This popped up in my mind a few minutes ago...

The sin against the holy spirit of God, for wich is no forgiveness in this lifetime...could it have something to do with this:

We are given something special..Gods spirit has opened our eyes for his true meaning with all of his creatures. We are somehow under pressure from the world we came out of. Could the sin against Gods spirit have something to do with giving in to that pressure, giving in to intimidation, giving in to fear of being left out in the community's we have been in, fear of loosing friends...and...giving in, altho we know better....does the verse wich tells us that who loves father ,mother, wife ,child or friends more then Me (Jezus) is not wurthy of me have something to do with this ?

it just popped up

the "sin" against the HS u refer to - is more specifically: "Blasphemy" against Him that Jesus was speaking about. It happened while he was casting out demons and the pharisees said he was doing it by "Belial".

So the sin, i think, directly has to do with ascribing the things that God does to Satan or some other power.

But I'm glad you brough it up, because a question has been nagging at the back of my mind for a while now...

Jesus said that Blasphemy against the HS would not be forgiven in this AGE OR THE AGE TO COME.

So - when then?

We know that eventually ALL men will be reconciled to God & forgiven. If the "Age to come" is the age where mankind is judged in the LOF - then WHEN WILL THIS SIN BE FORGIVEN?

Hi Sirach,

Here is an email reply from Ray regarding this subject.  Hope it helps.

Dear Earl:

Jesus is not speaking of sinning against a personality when He speak of sinning against the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is referred to "The SPIRIT OF TRUTH" time and again in the Scriptures. When one sins against the TRUTH, he has rejected the truth, and once he has done that, he must go into judgment; there is no more atonement for that sin in this life. When, for example, the Pharisees said that Jesus cast out devils and by prince of devils, they knew that wasn't true, but they said it anyway because the SO HATED JESUS CHRIST Who was the personification of Truth--they HATED TRUTH.  Why do you think so many Christians hate our site?

God be with you,
Ray

 Hi Falgn0n,

My present understanding would lead me to believe that the "age to come" would be the Millennium, the purging/forgiving of unrepented/unforgiven sins would begin after that in the LOF.

 Revelation 20

1And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

3And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

5But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

6Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

7And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

8And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

9And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

10And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

This appears to be saying that after the next age (Millennium) comes the age after, the second death (LOF).

 Peace,

 Joe

Thanks Rene. In the answer Ray gives i read that sinning against something you know is of the Spirit of Truth is sinning against the Holy Spirit. Denying given truths becos of fear of men, isnt that the same ?

Thanks Falgn0n, im also very curious what the scriptual answer to that question is.

Hi Robin,

I think you are right, when our eyes have been opened and we see these wonderful truths we must remain faithful to the end or face White throne judgment in the age to come.

Heb 6:4-6  For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.

Heb 10:26  For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
v. 27  but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.

Hope this helps  :)

mercy, peace and love

I believe it has to do with idols of the heart. Ray has said before, if you're worried that you've sinned against the Holy Spirit, then you most likely have not, or you've repented of it and are forgiven.
No orthodox Christian minister is ever going to repent of preaching that God will burn people in Hell forever, which is blaspheming the Holy Spirit. So they'll die with that hate filled blasphemy in their heart and mind.

I have always liked the saying, "The worst lie is the truth unsaid". A sin against the Holy Spirit that is blasphemous would be to not spread the truth when one has been exposed to the truth. When people learn the truth from our website and forum and reject that truth, even when they know what is be espoused here, is the real God given truth, that is the worst lie of all. That is blasphemous, to know the truth and to still hold on to false idols of the heart. These actions are, to me, what constitutes the Antichrist.
