Thanks Dennis, that was a charitable thing to say.

Scarlet has a point:

Php 1:18  What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

Dennis

Yes, and this is why scripture study is important because you can put the pieces together. Now we know that the writer of this scripture knows the sovereignty of God and knows all has a time and purpose. But this writer is also very aware that the doctrine of the churches are false and is not afraid to say so. All people at this stage come out of the things of the churches.

We should never, ever look down on our brothers and sisters in the church.

Concordant version:

1Co 1:26 For you are observing your calling, brethren, that there are not many wise according to the flesh; not many powerful, not many noble,

1Co 1:27 but the stupidity of the world God chooses, that He may be disgracing the wise, and the weakness of the world God chooses, that He may be disgracing the strong,

1Co 1:28 and the ignoble and the contemptible things of the world God chooses, and that which is not, that He may be discarding that which is,

1Co 1:29 so that no flesh at all should be boasting in God's sight.

King James:

1Co 1:26  For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

1Co 1:27  But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

1Co 1:28  And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

1Co 1:29  That no flesh should glory in his presence.

I often feel that if I make into the former resurrection the people in this world who know me will say "WHAT!!??, THAT STUPID, WEAK, FOOLISH, CONTEMPTIBLE PERSON, WHO WE DISPISE, IS GOING TO JUDGE US?"
