Our Likeminded Family @ BT

hillsbororiver:
Hello Joe,

Hi Brenda,

Speaking as a branch that has had a few twigs broken off in this forum, may I say I am grateful to be rid of them.  The twigs being some of my character flaws, or ideas I had held.  I certainly have been one to be alarmed and distraught at times.  As in all family disputes, in the end we have the opportunity to embrace a better understanding of each other.  That doesn't mean we have to agree on every aspect.

That is absolutely true, I have had a few branches and twigs pruned from me as well. There is nothing inherently wrong with being alarmed or distraught over situations, the true test is how we ourselves respond to these trials. Is it with a self righteous anger, or do we seek understanding first?

How else do we see our error unless someone challenges it by presenting a different way of looking at it.  I for one trust the leadership of our moderators.  And will endover to trust all will be well in the final outcome.

We (moderators) do not always have the instinctive infallible answer at hand, there are times that we must consult each other as we seek a godly discernment, I know there will be scoffers over this statement but they do not know how we sometimes agonize over certain decisions nor do they appreciate our motivation, they will tend to transfer the worst of carnal ego manifestations to people they barely know, if indeed know at all. I often think of Solomon's prayer when we are presented with a difficult situation in this Forum of (now) over 400 people and with an average of about 70 posts per day.

1Ki 3:9  Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?

Who indeed? Read the entire chapter, awesome stuff!

I desire mercy when I act out as a mule. And hope that our family can see past the behavior to the work that has only just begun in me.  As God wills I hope that he will teach me long suffering to better Love all of You! (with His Love Not Mine)

Amen Sister!

Brenda

Peace,

Joe

Robin:
Deuteronomy 1:15-17
15 So I took the leading men of your tribes, wise and respected men, and appointed them to have authority over you—as commanders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens and as tribal officials. 16 And I charged your judges at that time: Hear the disputes between your brothers and judge fairly, whether the case is between brother Israelites or between one of them and an alien.

I think the moderator's discernment is right on the mark.

I believe that God is very concerned about what happens on this forum. I believe that he chose the moderators that oversee this forum and I believe I should submit to their authority. I know that you all work as a team and over time that team gets stronger and you all watch over each other with accountability. I really believe that you all submit yourselves to God with your decisions and that you learn more through experience as time goes on. I appreciate all you do and go through behind the scenes. I know that you all agonize over decisions at times and do the right thing even when it's not the comfortable thing to do. Thank you all for your obedience to God and your service to us.

I am also thankful to all the members who post. I don't talk much, but I am here reading every single day. I know there are many here daily that don't post much. What would we do without you all?

Jackie Lee:
I agree with all you said MG, I am not a big talker either but spend a lot of time here daily or almost daily.

Hi MG and Jackie,

Your comments are very kind and very much appreciated.

His Peace to you,

Joe

I can remember when this forum had an "I Disagree" section years back.  That one always sank into the abyss and the mods got rid of it and revised to forum to what it is now.  THANK GOD!!!

May we keep our eyes on our First Love as brothers and sisters on a lifelong calling.

Ahhh yes Ches "the good old days".........  :P  NOT!

So true about keeping our eyes on our First Love for that is the only true and living likemindedness that will endure the trials and tribulations along our unique paths and journeys.

Thanks Brother!

Joe
