The intent of my post is not to besmirch anyones reaction to the difficult times we are in. My question about
the end or beginning is one of surprise that this anxiety attack started so suddenly with little reason i can see.
In 1974/75 we were in just as dire a time starting recovery from Vietnam and racked by oil embargo and long
gas lines. By 1977/81 a housing (RTC) and market crisis was full blown on us, all this while there was a
nuclear death sentence hovering over All the world. Since then 2 other economic downturns (1990 & 2000),
many serious catastrophes worldwide including 9/11/2001 and Indonesia (Tsunami). (oh Y2K)

The way i see it God Was In Control Then And He IS Now.

George.

Wow, what happened in the last couple hours, is it the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning.

Question,

When the Lord comes will He find Faith in the world. I thought we are all Trusting that God knows
exactly what He IS Doing.

Hello, Don't know for sure but after hearing some of the Preachers on TV about end times. How they think Hell is Justice and all kinds of lies they tell. I wonder if Men like that would not like there version of end time things to happen. I know if people believe in rapture and they go through mans trials, they may think that god has left them and quit beleving in him. Not sure if this is so but from some of there believes makes a person wonder. I could see some of them faking a rapture. Noting would surprise me. Course, I believe nothing will happen outside Gods Will.  I use to buy books on end times. One day after I believed like people on here do I gathered up there books and threw them in the trash. All, they do is put fear in you. I would rather trust God , and when a storm comes know he is with me. Why borrow trouble before we get it.
Love,
Marlene

For the people that posted "God is in control/charge" AMEN!!!!! Our job is not to second guess God's plans, so what if we have to suffer some minor, and I do mean minor compared to what Jesus suffered for us, troubles in our life. I am only 46 years old and have been hearing about the end times since I was 6 years old.

Maybe I am missing something, or else God has been exceedingly good to me, but my life is fantastic. I wake up knowing that there is a loving creator who only has my best interests at heart. I know that all day long God / Jesus looks over me and protects me from harm. Who, or what, could really hurt me? If God is on my side who can stand against me? No one or nothing!

I don't fear dying, thanks to a great degree to the website (Bible-Truths.com) and this forum.

I will give you a real life example: the other day a guy was very angry and upset with me at the casino. He stated that he should go to his car and get his gun and blow my brains out. I told him he does not have that much power. He stated that if he put a gun to my head and pulled the trigger that I would surely die. I simply told him, if that is God's plan for my life then go get your gun, I am not afraid of anyone, because I have faith that God will always protect me. I do not want to put my Lord to the test, however I still don't think the gun would fire, if God did not plan for my life to end that way.

We must all have faith that God really does Love each and everyone of us and everything will work out according to his plans, not ours.

We are told to SEEK the Kingdom.

beloved

Amen Sister!

 Matthew 6

25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. (Trouble enough)

 See Luke 12 as well...

Peace,

Joe

Amen Joe.

Whats happening in the west, to the minoroty of the human race, is nothing but business as usual, and life as normal to the majority of the human race, the developing world and poor of the world. And yet the faith found in some people that can only dream of the riches we have in the west, would put our relitively untested faith to shame in many respects.
The US, Britain, Europe, Australia, and the rich Asian countries have a long way down yet to even begin to have an idea of what life is like in many African countries, South American countries, some Eatern European countries, many parts of Asia.
I'm seeing on the TV that there really are people who think survival is impossible without their big screan LCD TV's, their multi channel satelite TV services, their comfortable well furnished tempreture controlled houses, their 4x4 luxary town tractors, their one stop super markets that supply every need and whim they have, their credit cards and all the other cares of the world that they have.
Whats happening is the result of greed, and to a greater or lesser degree we in the rich countries of the west have partaken of it. Most would say "oh no, not me"........but we have. Few of us can imagine what iots like to do without these things. Most humans that have existed, and that are alive today have never had these things, and will never have them.
As for the internet, Gods Church survived and flourished without it for almost 2000 years. God already knows what will be come of it, and already has it factored into His plan. So don't worry, its all of God.

Hi David,

Excellent post, yes perhaps we in the Western world (including the prosperous Asian countries) are going through an economic attitude adjustment, it isn't the first time in history of the world (as George & Craig pointed out) or even in the history of the U.S. and the west that this has taken place. I am old enough to remember the Doomsday Clock (Cold War days in the 60's) being set at 1 minute to Midnight (meaning worldwide disaster), the credit crunch, high inflation (double digit), unemployment rate (almost 10% vs. 6% in the U.S. now).

For some the Yom Kipper War in October (why does this stuff happen so often in October?) of 1973 meant the end of the world as we knew it, the Arab Oil Embargo brought more than a threefold increase in the price of a barrel of oil in less than a year! We had gas lines, odd/even days assigned to those wanting to buy gas, etc. It was predicted by more than a few that the Israel/Arab war would drag in the USSR and the US into a nuclear holocaust that would send us back to the stone age, some joked with dark humor the only life that would be left on earth would be the cockroaches and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones (because of his knack for surviving overdoses of drugs and booze). The overall mood was doom and gloom. Without going into detail each decade since has had its share of downturns, rumors of war, pestilence and anxiety.

We are still here though....

It is not wrong to prepare for shortages, to stock up on essentials but it is not conducive to spiritual growth to wring our hands in despair, He will provide, He promised!

While its true from our perspective that anything can happen, it's also true that anything could have happened throughout the history of mankind.  What DID happen operated under the same Law as what is happening and what will happen.  God is in charge.  ANYTHING didn't happen and ANYTHING can't happen.

Not all the news is bad, even in the stock markets.  Let's remember the discussion from just a few days ago about having a 'sound mind'.  Whether we are deeply involved in investments or debts or not at all, panic is the worst thing anybody can do and is a sin for those of us who know the truth.

Very true Dave, wise and sober counsel. We read in Matthew 6 a warning not to succumb to the fear mongering running rampant at any given time, we must learn to trust the Lord, exercise our faith during these times.

It is interesting to note that it appears the end of this age will not come when we are all scurrying about for bugs and leaves to eat but rather when things seem to be "normal" and people are going about their regular business and lifestyles. Look at what the Lord is saying here in Luke......

Luke 17

26And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

27They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

 28Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

29But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

30Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Let's be faithful and patient as we pray for our Lord's return.

His Peace to all,

Joe

I saw a history program the other day about the black death in Europe. Almost half the European population was wiped out as a result. It shook the Church to its core, because unlike poverty related disease and mortality, the black death was indiscriminate. Many in the Church believed then that it was the end times spoken of in revelation.
Compaired to the catastrophies that humanity has faced, this financial down turn is nothing.

I laughed hard the other day. I saw a reporter asking this lady about the economy, she was some celebrity and she made comments on how bad things were. The reporter then started listing off all her jewelry, watch and coats and bags and the unreal dollar amounts those things were worth. It was all draped around and on her for the world to see but she was whining about the bad state of affairs. He then ended off with saying "Don't seem you got it to bad!"

Go ahead a download BT, here is what Craig says is the best way to do it.

http://download.httrack.com/cserv.php3?File=httrack.exe

It will copy the entire bibletruths website.  Then you can view it whether you have a internet connection or not.  It will appear just like you have a connection.

Make sure you select multiple mirror and then exclude the forum or you will mirror the forum also and it will take very very long.  from Craig

Maybe this really is the end of this age (though I know they have thought this many times through the centuries) and this is what must take place to lead up to His return.  If that is the case, all I can say is praise God and may He give us strength and wisdom for what is to come.

mercy, peace and love

I was just wondering what is going to happen to this forum and all of us after the global economy go belly up?

What I mean is, I seriously doubt that this forum is going to be here after the crash gets bad because no one is going to have any money to keep it going.

The might not even be an internet!

At least at the moment We can come and meet together and share the scriptures and learn from each others collective wisdom, but not for long I don't think.

My wife and I went for a walk yesterday and while we were looking around at all the houses and shops and the lack of things edible growing around the place and discussing how many people are going to die.

It's really starting to sink in now how bad things have become and how bad their going to get, actually I don't even know how bad things are going to get, I just know their going to get bad!

My wife and I are staying at my mothers place at the moment in Sydney which I don't really like because things are going to be very bad in the city.

Most people don't have a clue what it's going to be like when things get bad.
Most people don't even have a clue that things are going to get bad.

I hope that We can keep meeting together for a while yet, because it is a very lonely road without like minded company along the way.

We can allways fall back on the original form of EMAIL, and ACTUALLY send M A I L to one another.  ;D

Not so young brother, i miss anyone who does not show up. This forum is a great place to fellowship even when one
just reads the various post and glean some understanding from them. Btw you should have no problem posting or
accessing the forum while downloading.
