Hey Brenda,
Yes, I know why.
She prays as if to change God's mind about my situation and hers.
I don't want the situation to change I just want to endure through it.
Somethings she prays for I believe are worthy to be prayed for, like patience.
She's prays about that a lot. I hate to judge one's prayer but she openly prays to me.

She is also my ex-girlfriend so that complicates things too.
I always seem to question her motives and intentions.
Its very hard to care about someone you once thought you were going to marry.

Daddysgirl:
I think i know exactly how you feel. i also don't like praying with people anymore.
It has absolutely nothing to do with arrogance- the scriptures are clear about how we should pray. It's so funny that some of us had to read ray's paper on Prayer before we could start practicing what we have always read and known. Talk about utter blindness!

People pray to the Holy Spirit which certainly can't be right seeing that it is the spirit of God and not God Himself. They claim and prophecy over things they know nothing about. As you said, they pray to change the Unchangeable God. I have done all of the above for a very long time and i just refuse to let my puny self do that anymore!

About the anger, i can only say- we are in this together my brother. :-[

OBrenda:
Yes that is very difficult!

The conflict to pray amiss, or offend a friend.
Some do pray to people what they think the answer is,...instead of to seek God's Will.
How would you like to have handled it?
Because I think I would have had the same reaction you did?
And felt badly.... :-\
(Hope I'm not being to personal)

Matt:
Antwain,
Have you asked yourself "why has God caused me to reject her prayer?"
Maybe there is more to this than meets the eye.
I do not know the details, but it seems like He is trying to tell you something.

Don't be so hard on yourself, imagine how bad it would be if YOU were in charge!
Hang in there! ;)

Matt

dogcombat:
Antwain,

This is a touchy subject and I wish I could offer something concrete.  Sometimes you end up saying no because, maybe, her prayer for you will make her puffed up with pride to think that, if something worked in your favor, SHE would tout herself as a prayer warrior (whatever that means).  I really don't like to tell those people I felt moved to pray for that I did pray for them.  Because Holy Spirit "will make intercession for what must be" (Romans 8:26).  I only hope that God's will becomes clearer to you as today progresses.
