Pillar of Salt

<< < (4/4)

Ninny:
Yes Rodger, I do see that! It is in the turning back with longing that is the return I see it. :D ;D
It's funny I hadn't considered that until today! I'm telling you, you learn something new everyday! ;)
Ariel do you see where he got that she returned? Yes it was in her mind and in her heart!
Love you all!
Kathy :)

Hey Guys thanks for the help!!
The Scriptures you all gave greatly added to my understanding of this.
I believe my question has been answered! :D  "Pillar of Salt A Result of Judgement?"
I hope Ray Discusses this further one day in the future :)
Though I think he's covered it quite well without mentioning Lot's Wife.

-Rev 1:11  Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

-Rev 2:7  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

-Rev 2:11  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

-Rev 2:17  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

-Rev 2:26  And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
Rev 2:27  And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my        Father.
Rev 2:28  And I will give him the morning star.

-Rev 3:5  He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

-Rev 3:12  Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

-Rev 3:21  To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Its all One!
I love this! ;D

Hello,
Antaiwan

This is just my opinion, but I don't think that Luke22 is the spiritual match of Gen. 19 (the scripture that you had the question on)

I believe is Philippians 3:3-16

I give a hint: think about key words such as:
1. behind (notice that the wife was behind Lot)
2. looking forward
3. high calling
4. servant
5. Zoar (which in hebrew means insignificant)
6. Lot (which in heb. means covering, and in gk. means veil, flesh)
7. pillar (that word means pillar alright, but not pillar as a support, but pillar as protection)
8. salt (did you know that there is a "covenant of salt)
9. wife (means adulteress)(think about it as the whorish part of the flesh)
10. Lastly, notice that in Ge. 13, God did not make the promise known to Abram, until he was separated from Lot(flesh)
and then and only then he changed his name. Think in terms like Abram was the spirit, and Lot was the flesh.

I look forward to your response.
Lot's of practical wisdom there. ;D

Shalom

Hey Ariel!
I never said Luke Chapter 22 was a spiritual match for Genesis 19
I'm pretty sure no one even mentioned that chapter on this thread.

I think I understand why you mentioned Philippians 3:3-16
Php 3:14  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Php 3:21  Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
This is also a result of Judgement
1Pe 4:17  For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

Again it seems to be all one thing as Ray has pointed out several times.

Ariel,
What lead me to even ask this question was the judgment on Sodom And Gomorrah and all the cities of the plains.
Judgment has a purpose
Luk 17:29  But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
Luk 17:30  Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Eze 16:53  When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then will I bring again the captivity of thy captives in the midst of them:
Eze 16:54  That thou mayest bear thine own shame, and mayest be confounded in all that thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort unto them.
Eze 16:55  When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate.

Another result of judgment.

This is what I see and gleem from scriptures and the help of Ray's teachings.
A piller of salt seems to be another ingredient in the cake.

As for your keyword list, I not sure I quite understand where your going or what your trying to say?
I knew what those words meant before I posted this thread.
I think it would help if you explained......?
