My sister
« on: November 11, 2008, 02:37:55 PM »

Hey everyone,
I would like for you to remember my sister in prayer. Her name is Mary. She is having some pretty serious heath concerns right now. She's a person who takes care of everyone except herself. Just pray that if it God's will he will heal her or give her peace in any case. Just pray that the doctors will be an instrument in God's hand.
Thanks  :)

Kathy, I will keep Mary in my prayers. I had a sister like that. She is paralyzed from a stroke and my Oldest Neice lives with her. She has care while she works. It seems some people just give and give without anyone seeing there need.

In His Love,
Marlene

Thanks guys I know I can always count on my friends here to pray! It's great what a difference Christian brothers and sisters make in our lives!
You're all too sweet! One thing I neglected to add about my sister. She knows that God is good she prayed for my little grand son and enlisted everyone she knew to pray for him! She is a smoker, I think this is what her illness is related to. I have tried to get her to quit for years, but I guess it's just an addiction not easily kicked.

She cried this morning and said she went to a church called the "Cowboy Church" this past Sunday and they prayed for her and anointed her with oil for healing. I told her that was very sweet of them to do that for her. She and her husband have always been on the country music scene they have played and sang for years, not famous, mind you just playing for friends and such. They just did a benefit for a girl in their town who is in need of a house and they raised enough money to finish building a house someone started for her but ran out of money. My sister worked on that benefit in an incredible amount of pain, I know. Just wanted you to know a little more.
Thanks!
Kathy :)

Praying for your sister Kathy.
The scripture comes to mind.. the prayer of a righteous man availeth much, I am not sure where the scripture is at this time but God hears our prayers.

Jackie Lee,
Yes that is one thing that I hold on to a lot lately, James 5:16 "Confess your faults one to another and pray for one another that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." I love that verse :D That's a good reminder.
Thanks,
Kathy :)

I just got a call from Mary (my sister) she said they called her in to get the lung scan yesterday. The Dr. called her last night and said the scan showed a spot on her lung.  She said she is scheduled to see a pulmonary specialist tomorrow. I told her to hang in there because everyone is praying for her. I told her we are praying that whatever it is they will either take it out, cure it, or if she has to have it for awhile that they can treat it. She will call me after her appointment tomorrow and let me know what the lung doc. says.
Please everyone keep her in your prayers. I know that God can heal it completely if that is in His plan for her.

Kathy, I sure will keep her in my prayers. A few years ago they found a nodule on my lung. It turned out to be ok. Then , twice they found things on my kidneys that looked like cancer. It was really a hard time waiting. They turned out ok. I have never been a smoker or anything. But, you are right if God wills she will be ok. We all just have to keep that in our minds.

In His Love,
Marlene

HI again,
my sister said the lung doc. said he will do a biopsy tomorrow on  her lung. He said it could be cancer, but they won't know anything for sure until after the biopsy.
Just keep her in your prayers. I'll update in a few days whenever they get the results of the biopsy.
Thanks,
Kathy :)

I just got a call from my sister. The tests have come back and she definitely has lung cancer :'(
She is asking for lots of prayer. I told her there are lots going up for her.  The most important thing is God is getting her attention and that of her family. It's sad that sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures.

I have told her that God answers prayer and I'm praying that He will call her and her family to repentance if nothing  else. We can only pray that is His will for her is life and healing. Please keep all that in your prayers.
Thank you all for your prayers! You are all a life-line to me. You are my family :)

Kathy, I am so sorry to hear that. I will defintiely keep her in my prayers. The world is so full of the hurting, the sick, the poor .  Yes, there could be a silver lining in all of this. Many may turn to  god. If, the Lord will she will survive this.  But, they will need lots of love and attention. We, should heard today that a woman in my husbands family by marriage has had her lung cancer return. Life is truely like a vapor. We should try and love and get along with all the best we can. For, our  Dear Father loves all humanity even the blind. Thats why he died least we forget.

In His Love,
Marlene

I wanted to give a little update on my sister, Mary. She has not been started on any chemo ar anything yet. She's still undergoing tests and xrays. She doesn't have insurance. I want to talk to her about some alternative treatments, I have a lot of information on alternative cancer treatments. I just want you to pray that she can find something she's brave enough to do.

I know God is dealing with her heart in the matter of her life. If it were me I'd do whatever I could to prolong my body's chance of killing off the cancer cells. That means giving the good cells enough strength to make it through to do the job God intends for them (that of renewing and regenerating new good cells and disposing of the cancer cells). BUT we are not talking about me here, this is her life. So I just want you to keep her and me in your prayers as I try to help her make the right choices (not mine, but hers!).  I think of how Ray has been fighting his cancer and I know his is very advanced and I am waiting for the news that he has won the battle!
Thanks again for all the prayers!
Kathy :)

I wanted to let you all know that my sister got bad news today from the oncologist. He said the tumor in her lung is the size of a baseball. She is going to have surgery this next Wed. It is very bad so please pray that God's will will be done. That is all I know to do right now. I will give you more as I know it.
Thanks and I love you all,
Kathy

hi kathy,
i will also keep your sister (and you) in my prayers. praying that God's will be done is the best thing you/we can do. but also, God knowing your heart knows that you love your sister and want her to be healed. just tell Him everything. any also remember to believe God's report (His scriptures) and not focus on the oncologists' report. God can heal anything according to His will.
