Attention! Virus Warning
« on: November 13, 2008, 09:35:05 AM »

Please read the following. It applies to FedEx as well, Thanks.

The newest virus circulating is the UPS Delivery Failure. You will  receive an email from UPS Packet Service along with a packet number.  NOTE: The word packet is mis-spelled on this line. It will say that  they were unable to deliver a package sent to you on such and such a date. It then asks you to print out the invoice copy  attached.

DON'T TRY  TO PRINT THIS. IT LAUNCHES THE VIRUS!

Pass this warning on to all your PC operators at work and home. This  virus has caused Millions of dollars in damage in the past few  days.

Snopes  confirms that it is real:

Good idea Suzie,

With Christmas approaching many will not be right on top of incoming packages so this destructive scam has the potential to affect a whole lot of folks.

Peace,

Joe

I received that email in August and didn't open the attachment.
I sent it to my daughter to see if it was her delivery and told her not to open the attachment.

Norton did not catch it.

There is another virus I have had to deal with...it is with McAfee. While on line a thing popped up and warned about a trojan and some other invaders, it wanted me to update and run it..DO NOT DO THIS .....It looks just like McAfee with their logo etc...

f you do they put a program on that messes with your computer and then they want 59.97 from you so they will remove it...like they will.  I had a friend remove it from the registry.

I was told to shut down and reopen then run a scan and let McAfee do its thing....Never Do anything while on line, ....schedule your daily maintenance at a good time,

If you happen to be working at the sceduled time then stop the scan and then do when you have finished. If you do not scan daily it will scan the next time you turn on the computer...just when you have to urgently do something.

I wish I could wipe all spam mail from my email box.
