Hello, I'm a newbe here
« on: January 16, 2009, 07:23:15 PM »

Hello Everybody, I thought that saladking would be a good name for me because whenever I'm with a gathering of friends or family at Christmas time or whenever, I usually help myself to about 90% of the salad, while the others eat the other 10% between themselves.  Also, my real name David and it is such a common name.
I am from the South Island in New Zealand.  I have been aware of Ray's site for years now.  And have been aware of these forums for over 2 years .
I have read most of Ray's essays over the years, and am now reading through the Lake of Fire series for the third time.
I first discovered the good news about the eventual salvation of all in late 2001.  I actually first discovered it through reading about Charles Sagle.  I left Church for good over 2 years ago.
I'm the only one that I know of in Dunedin that actually believes that Jesus is the Saviour of the world.
I am a single Middle aged man, and live on my own.
Gosh, I can't get any smileys to work.  I'm not very computer literate.  Oh well it doesn't really matter.

Hi David,

Welcome to our church fellowship, of sorts.  I know there is at least one other Kiwi here, but I'll let her introduce herself.  I'm not sure where in NZ she lives.

My name is Steve.  I live in the States now, but I used to live in NZ also.  I never got to the South Island, but I saw the ferry almost every day.  I lived in and around Wellington - Porirua and Paraparaumu most recently, along the Kapiti coast, while I worked for the RNZPD.

I hope you find a warm welcome and a safe place to be yourself here.  I know that I have.

Cheers mate,
Steve

Thanks Folk,
I have been trying to login again for quite a while.  I always have my computer on high security, and it seems that that was stopping me.  I am on again now that I changed my settings to medium security.
I'm preparing for a wasp kill this evening.  I have an crack under my eves that leads to a nest in my ceiling somewhere.  It's showery and wet today.

David is not a common name...it's a royal name that just happens to be shared by 1/3 of all westerners.

Once I was in Thailand and making my first visit to Chiang Mai.  When I exited the little airport, there were 6 people holding up signs looking for travellers they were sent to take under their wings.  Two of them were looking for "David".  That's proof that 1/3 of all western males are named David.

I picked the wrong one.   ;D

(for smilies, just click one above the message box and it will appear as text wherever your cursor is.  It'll be visible as a smilie when the post is sent.)   :) ;) :D ;D >:( :( :o 8) ??? ::) :P :-[ :-X :-\ :-* :'(  See?  Now I'm just showing off.

Welcome to the forum.

Hello and welcome saladking,

Saladking sounds like a distant cousin of carrot top. :D

I always wanted to visit New Zealand,I hear that the native brown trout fishing is as good as it gets. ;D

  Peace,

Hi David,

Welcome to the forum.  I, too, am a big salad eater, so I guess you could call me the "saladqueen." :)

Looking forward to reading your contributions to the forum.

Hi Heidi and Johnny,
I have read on these forums some time ago that there is a fellowship group that meets someplace in Auckland. :)
whoopee, God's blessings to you. ;D
I can overdo it on eating salad.  Although I think that my stomach can stand a monstrous family sized bowl full without getting an upset tum, if I eat no grains at the same meal, and nothing else either for that matter.
