2Co 12:10  Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
2Co 12:11  I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing.

I could have placed this whole section in bold!
You should pray for relief, you should pray for all things!
but all of these: infirmities, reproaches, necessities, persecutions,and distresses are sufficient in teaching you something about yourself.
In Paul's case it was his abundant revelations. He needed something to keep him humble, enter in a messenger of satan.
Take pleasure in your trials for Christ sake! You will soon find rest in them

Mat 11:28  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Does he right now?  Or will he?

This verse reminds me of the beatitudes.  Those who mourn... comforted, meek... inherit the earth, those who hunger... filled.  Obviously all this doesnt happen right now, but its wonderful to have the assurance that it WILL.

Ecc 3:1  For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.

This should probably be posted somewhere else on this forum but I think it is relevent to this thread. On June 16, 2007 My son Zach , 18 years old at the time, drowned in a pond. From that moment on and for several months after CK, I was asking these very same guestions and making the very same statements you are at this time. God was (to borrow from George as well) "THROWING A BRICK " at me. Letting me know He is in control. He literally turned everything I thought I knew about Him, the world, people, everything into dung. He ground me to powder.  Now I still ask these questions about my son's life and death. And about my own life in some respects. But my point is this. These questions that WE are asking have led me to truths and relizations that I had no idea even existed. So be encouraged that you are wondering about such things. I believe they can and will lead to greater understanding.
