What kind of MUSIC do you listen to?
mhykx:
I listen to variety of music actually but the kind of music that makes me to be "carried away" most is LIGHT ROCK LOVE SONG like Thank You for Loving Me of Bon Jovi, Count on You by Tommy Shaw, I Love You by Climax Blues Band, etc.
Also if you are listening to Contemporary Christian Music, whose work do you listen to?
Thanks for sharing.

Mike,
I am a big fan of all kinds of music. My favorite pop artist of all time is Cliff Richard, my favorite 'Contemporary Christian' artists are Iona, Larry Norman and Kerry Livgren (formerly of the band Kansas). My favorite Christian metal band is Bride (who have also been dragged out of the traditional church and are now preaching the salvation of all - quite powerfully, I might add).
I am a big fan of classic rock bands - Chicago, Styx, ELO, Toto, Foreigner, Kansas, Beatles.. I could go on.
I enjoy a lot of jazz (not the 'screechy' jazz) - Pat Metheny, Candy Dulfer, Duke Ellington, Count Basie,
etc.
I'm not big into country but I like Asleep At The Wheel, Johnny Cash, Nickel Creek, Alison Krauss and probably a few others.
And of course: classic R&B / Funk (James Brown, Earth Wind & Fire, Heatwave, Isley Brothers.. I could go on.
I enjoy classical when I am in the mood, particularly Bach. I also thoroughly enjoy just about everything Christopher Hogwood does. And, I've been known to enjoy some of the more progressive classical music such as the music by Arvo Pärt.
Pop music is nice too.. and I enjoy a lot of the artists.
Music is a wonderful gift from God!
It used to be a huge idol to me, and for years I gave it up almost completely as I did not want it to take prominence in my life over the Lord. Now I enjoy it in moderation, and now it is a blessing again. :)

I listen to a wide variety of music. Christian is my main thing at the moment. Some of my favorites are Lincoln Brewster, Kutless, Thousand Foot Krutch, Disciple, Natalie Grant, and Mercyme to name a few. Rock on dudes!! :) ;) :D ;D
Samson:
Hi Mike,
I prefer mostly Rock type music, not too much of the current variety. The exception
being the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Listen to some samples below:

Enjoy the music, Samson.

There's nothing I don't enjoy --at least in small doses. I'm more of a 'song' guy than a 'genre' guy, and I still prefer the musics I grew up on. I pretty much quit following 'new' music about the time of Nirvana and REM, both of which I liked, but I still hear current songs on the radio that I enjoy--just not enough to go buy a CD. :D
If it has soul, I like it. My favorite band has always been (and remains) Jethro Tull. Nothing has knocked them off for power, interest, and variety.
But most of what I listen to these days is 'silence'. I enjoy music more when I'm not inundated with it. Since I also try to make it, it helps me to be a little washed out and hungry.
