What kind of MUSIC do you listen to?

I have to ask extol...what is folk metal?

Always love the "what music.." topic.......

Like many I tend to revert back to my youth.  Then and now love(ed) the Eagles, Styx, Foreigner, Journey, Def Leppard.  Have seen all in concert recently and they can still bring it.  Never purchased any Heart stuff but saw them this summer and they are incredible. 

My ipod actually includes a little Elvis and the soundtrack to the Lord of the Rings!

If it is of the "Christian" variety......seen Petra too many times to count.  Enjoy the Hillsongs stuff.     

My 15 year old son is in to groups like the Devil Wears Prada, Underoath, etc.  I can't undertand the words but I am guessing my folks felt the same way about some of my stuff!

Hi Dave in Tenn:
 Folk metal is 'heavy metal' with traditional folk melodies infused into it; in addtion to the standard 'rock' instruments, they use recorders, bagpipes, violins, accordians, and other folk instruments. Here is a Celtic folk metal band called Eluveitie (music only!):
