Yet another newbie from south africa
« on: March 17, 2009, 03:24:52 PM »

Hi to all of you

Thought it might be better to introduce myself. My name is Joan (user name Jassy) named after my boerbull.. to those outside of SA that is a large 60kg plus breed of dog with attitude. She outweighs me so I use her handle.
I am a customiser of bikes and cars, live on a plot of land outside of town and love Jesus.

My husband insisted on Internet 2 years ago. A dsl line for broadband Internet which is an expensive little luxury in this part of the world. I have privately asked questions all my life on various aspects. Most of which got answered with this marvellous tool over the last 2 years. I have asked Him about 911, aliens, evolution, ww2, and other worldly things. He has shown me much but I got to the point where I have the answers now and where do I go?

One of my questions was about Hell. The constant threat. I have friends who have commited suicide , family who died angry. My only question was, if I go to Him and He promises to wipe every tear from my eye does He wipe my memory as well? Do I forget about those I love frying (or so they say) eternally? I love Him so much that I have never made a big issue of it. I trust Him with everything.

But I have a mind and intellect so I joined this forum and read Ray Smiths site. There is no such thing as chance. Time I think to get away from worldly things and seek after the things of God. He is bigger than the box people want to put Him in. And I am realising every day just how much bigger He is.

you have come to the right place to seek of the Spirit.

The boerbull kinda reminds me of the mastiffs. I like big dogs also,in the past I have owned Akita's,http://www.i-love-dogs.com/dog-breeds/images/Akita.jpg great dogs, and companions.

Peace...Mark

Hi Joan,

I'm glad you have joined us  :)

This bit of truth could only come from our Father in heaven.   People of the world think the more materially you have the better it is.  Even the church have their prosperity Gospel.  God brings us to see that the spiritual things are so much more important than the physical.

Mat 6:31  "Therefore do not worry, saying, "What shall we eat?' or "What shall we drink?' or "What shall we wear?'
v. 32  For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
v. 33  But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

The internet is truely a blessing, by it we are able to fellwowship with like minded people from all over the world.  I hope you join in the discussions with us.  Here are a few links, as we have a lot available here that you might like to check out.

Hi Joan.  Glad you joined us!  Keep in touch.  I need to stop thinking of worldly things-too much doom and gloom-and keep my eye steadfast on Him.

Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome.
Kat, thank you for the sites, will check them out and get up to speed on this forum.
Mark, that Akita is one beautiful breed, had never heard of them before now, and Kenny, I see your 126 pounds and raise you 10.... however, my dogs are a bit porky, love german shepards but find them too smart. Need a dog in my life that is not two steps ahead of me ;D

Gmik, I hear you, finding my answers and what is really going on did make me wiser but not happier. Way I see it there is truth and reality. Reality is that there is global unrest and economic melt down ect ect. Truth is God is still the same and He is not chewing His fingernails in worry. He has everything in control so why must I be afraid and depressed? Sun still rises, rain still falls and untended plates of food are still in deadly peril from undisciplined hounds.

Hi everyone,

I'm new too......to everything. I'm struggling to get around this forum-thingy. Been clicking everywhere (restarting too) and ended up here. I'm not sure whether i should be here. I want to post a message thant i'm new too.

Ok, i'm from an island in the middle of the pacific ocean. not comfortable saying where exactly.....christianity is alive and strong in the islands but so is heresy. I've always felt and known that the CHURCHES have got it all wrong.....we have all kinds of Christian denominations here.

Will see where this message goes through to.....pls bear with me.

Cheers,
Liz

Dont fret Liz, just read the home page. You will orientate yourself eventually. I only got onto the net 2 years ago and made some mistakes that make yours nothing.
Like inviting everybody on my messaging service, including a customs official, to a birthday bash.
The other mistakes do not bear telling. I changed my name, address and appearance to live those down. ;D

Thanks again to the others for the welcome, you make my heart full.
