Hi Ray, some text in scripture say literally what they mean and literally mean what they say, right? So the rule of interpretation of prophecy does not apply to everything in the bible, right?

WHAT "rule of interpretation of prophecy?" WHAT is "everything?" Does everything INCLUDE prophecy? What is prophecy? Prophecy can broadly mean "inspired" speaking or writing, and "ALL Scripture is given by INSPIRATION of God" (II Tim. 3:16). Not everything is as simple as you might wish it to be. If there were a mathematical formula to understand the Scriptures, then their would be no need to "match spiritual with spiritual," or to have the Mind of Christ, or to live by FAITH!
