Title: Logo
Post by: Revilonivek on April 17, 2011, 03:53:45 AM
Heraclitus of Ephesus, a greek philosopher between 5th and 4th century BCE,  who gave up his throne to his kingdom in search of wisdom,   compares logos to fire, truth, wisdom, knowledge, etc.   He started a debate about the term  Logo, and ever since then, it has been the greatest debate with sophists, philosophers, religions etc throughout time and each with their own opinion of what it means. Even today, people still try to figure out what logos really means.

So what exactly is Logo?

What if the apostles used the word logo, according to heraclitus philosophy, to communicate with those who were influenced by heraclitus's wisdom to explain God?  just a thought?

In the scripture in John 1:1, it says, " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

Heraclitus likens logos to fire, truth, wisdom, knowledge, etc.

What are your thoughts?

I believe a logo is supposed to be a visual representation of a product.
The American flag is a logo of the U.S.A.  no?
