Title: HEBREWS?
Post by: Craig on April 05, 2006, 12:15:31 PM
Mr. Smith,

What you sent to me is great.  I’ve read it, studied it, and agree.

Obviously, I did not communicate very well what my question was.

In the paragraph that I quoted from you and sent, I tried to hi-light the part that says (Paul did not write the book of Hebrews, II Thes. 3:17 ).

That is my question.  Since the endings of Hebrews and the 13 letters of Paul seem to have the same meaning, I just need clarification on your point of Paul not being the writer of Hebrews.

Thanks for your patience.

Don

Dear Don:

Virtually all of the writers, James, Peter, end their letters with much the "same meaning."

[1] Paul said that he always signed his epistles (II Thes. 3:17). Hebrews ISN'T signed.

[2] ALL of Paul's church epistles are to GENTILES.  The Scroll for Hebrews originally had only "TO Hebrews."  Paul's name was never there. So this book is to HEBREWS, and not GENTILES, as are ALL of Paul's church epistles.

God be with you,

Ray
