Title: What is it meaning ?
Post by: rick on August 01, 2015, 10:33:11 PM
Luk 7:32  They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.  :-\

Jesus is talking about how the scribes and pharisees related to John and to Him.  John was an aesthete and they called him crazy.  Jesus ate and drank and they called him a drunkard and glutton.  It didn't matter what they did, they were under condemnation as far as the scribes and pharisees (this generation) were concerned.  "We piped to you and you didn't dance.  We mourned to you and you have not wept."  Ever had anybody 'piping' or 'mourning' to you and condemning you because you didn't 'act right'?  Ever 'piped' or 'mourned' at somebody else and condemned them because they didn't do what you expected?

As they say in pop culture:  "Hater's gonna hate".

Hi Dave,

I had an idea but was not completely sure who it was referring to.   :)
