Title: funny
Post by: eutychus on May 18, 2006, 11:49:39 AM
An honest man was being tailgated by a stressed out woman on a busy
boulevard.  Suddenly, the light turned yellow just in front of him.  He did
the right thing stopping at the crosswalk even though he could have beaten
the red light by accelerating through the intersection.  The tailgating
woman hit the roof and the horn, screaming in frustration as she missed her
chance to get through the intersection dropping her cell phone and makeup.
As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up
into the face of a very serious police officer.

The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up.  He took her to
police station where she was searched, finger printed, photographed, and
placed in a holding cell.  After a couple of hours a policeman approached
the cell and opened the door.  She was escorted back to the booking desk
where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects.

He said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake.  You see I pulled behind your car
while you were blowing your horn, flipping off the guy in front of you, and
cussing a blue streak at him.  I noticed the 'Choose Life' license plate
holder, the 'What Would Jesus Do' bumper sticker, the 'Follow Me to Sunday
School' bumper sticker, and the chrome-plated Christian Fish emblem on the
trunk.

"Naturally...I assumed you had stolen the car."

It has been said that the reason a joke is funny, is because there is a lot of truth in it. This joke proves that point, as well as the fact when you put slogans on your bumper, you forget what you put there because you can't see it.

I believe Christians break the law more in their driving than anywhere else. They speed, do u-turns, California stops, not attentive to their driving, and other illegal practices. I know, because I disobey all these laws, and see so many others disobey them too.

Maybe bumper stickers should be put on the dashboard of our cars so we can see them and be reminded of how to walk in our lives. I refuse to put one on my car until I know I will walk it out.

I get so anxious I just park far away in a parking lot....gee.. i look stupid when I can't get in those spots!   My husband can parallel park with his big @$$ truck just about anywhere in front of sidewalk cafes even!  I dont know how he does it!  And he sure takes pride in it too...must be a guy thing??

I don't paralell park either, but I don't really have to anymore because i shop at big stores that have individual parking spaces. Isabell, I quit driving in snow when I had 2 accidents. Both of them were in the winter during snow. I am thankful our snow days are few and far between otherwise I would be walking a lot.

I was a driving instructor for several summers and I still can't parallel park-don't even want to learn.  I never taught it to my students, if they personally wanted to learn I sent them to one of the other teachers-usually the guys. Gals never bothered.  :D

lol Gena   .  Isn't it something to do with females not having as much spatial awareness or something?  I don't mind parallel parking, although whether it goes smoothly or not usually depends on whether someone is waiting for me to get out of their way.  I've managed to knock two hubcaps off and practically bald my back left tyre from scuffing it on the curb in the last six months  #-o   .  But in my defence ...i don't have power-steering  :P .
