Title: the Denisovans
Post by: dodrill on August 20, 2012, 07:02:27 AM
hi family
I watched this documentary on the finding of the Denisovans (the Denisova individual was more closely related to Neanderthals than to modern humans)
so more proof that the earth is very old and there were different species of mankind before adam and eve. Bad news for young-earth creationists

http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/homs/denisova.html

I just marvel at our Creator and his diversity

Hello Hayley,
Interesting idea to contemplate.
Just keep in mind that of those who still wonder about the creation of "mankind" there is a defined difference between those who believe in a Young Earth and those who believe in a young species of mankind. In other words an old earth still leaves room for a younger than 10,000 years of human existence on the earth.
Don't wish to debate the issue just to define carefully the terms we use.

Kindly, Indianabob

You make a good point Gena, I was just trying to give a round figure the way the scientist usually do. Rounded to the nearest thousand or so.
It sounds like our friend the children's author J. M. Barrie when he writes "a long time ago in a far away place called Never never land, there lived a boy named Peter who could fly."

Every story is plausible when put in the context of millions of years or thousands of light speed years distant and no one can check it. As Ray had said a few times it is not even a valid theory it is just a hypothesis generated by the mind of men.

Regards, Ole Bob, smiling all the way to the end.... ::) ;D
