Title: Cast the angels in hell (hades)?
Post by: blakparty on May 25, 2007, 11:01:02 AM
I was reading 2 Peter 2 and I ran into this: 4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

 5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
Can someone explain this to me.  I know that it is a Christian myth that God threw Lucifer and his angels in hell but these couple of verses got my head tingling and I just want some questions answered about this.  If you could be some help in this, it will be greatly appreciated.  God Bless, Rob.

Here's something to think about.

Rev 21:17  And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

Angel and messenger often used interchangably in the bible.  John the baptist was a messenger (angel) of God.

Mat 11:10  For1063 this3778 is2076 he, of4012 whom3739 it is written,1125 Behold,2400 I1473 send649 my3450 messenger32 before4253 thy4675 face,4383 which3739 shall prepare2680 thy4675 way3598 before1715 thee.4675
