Title: "God does NOT suffer" L. Ray Smith
Post by: Deborah-Leigh on April 04, 2010, 08:52:41 AM
Ray has published a most amazing thing in the e-mail responses.

"...God DOES not suffer."  That is presently.  I do not recall saying that "God HAS NOT ever suffered." (Past tense).  "God DOES not learn anything, seeing that God IS [NOW] all knowing."  What I was trying to bring out in my lecture has to do with God BEFORE He "brought forth" or "birthed" wisdom by which He then was able to Create the heavens and the earth IN WISDOM.

This is what I have learned.

Rev 21:4  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

You see it? God is not suffering presently! We shall be as God and our tears WILL turn to joy.
God sees our tears. Just like a mother giving birth cries in agony, God see’s.  God  Knows what is coming next! For the joy that was before Him Jesus too endured the cross. He knew! Do we? Does this help ease the pain? No. Not at all. Just ask a mother giving birth without an epidural! Have you been there? Have you done that? Have you got the T-Shirt? Nope! Who has been on the Cross of Christ?

I thank God He is Present and knowing His Plan, Purpose and Will, will be done.

We will join Him in His tears of joy when after all is done, He will be all in all. The Joy of His Kingdom, come! P-U-S-H………...B - R-E- A -T- H - E…….Thy Kingdom come.
Have you noticed that in your life, that pain seems to come in cycles? Like a birth pang….?  I am in an in-between birth pang remembering God’s Plan. When the pain hits, everything I know, EVERYTHING I have learnt,  flies out the window!  Know what I mean anyone? Who on earth is not feeling pain?

I am not saying all on earth will be raised righteous in the Spirit of Christ in the resurrection. No. Many called and few chosen doesn’t change. The baby will be born and the after birth will be….well we know what happens to the blood and the gore and the mess that is left behind. It passes away!...Can you feel the joy, the anticipation of Gods Work happening?

Arc, I enjoyed your post and would like the link to that email. I would like to review it as it may fill a gap in a study I have been doing. Thanks

Hi Roy

You will find the information in Does God Learn? Or did He learn?   in e-mails to Ray page one.

I can not down load links as they do not appear on the pages I load onto my lap top for some reason... :)

Looks like Roy found it...here's the text for others.

Hi Ray, will try and be short with my questions, quoted from one of your studies; Truth no. 5 under 12 God given truths to understand His Word:

….Jesus had to "suffer" and "learn obedience" (Heb. 5:08). (a) God does not suffer: (b) God does not learn anything, seeing that God is all knowing (Isa. 46:10).

a)     The bible mentions that God long suffered ;

Rom 9:22  What if God, willing to shew his wrath, & to make his power knowen, indured with much long suffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: (KJV1611)

In the above verse longsuffering is synonymous with patience, endurance etc, When you said God does not suffer. In which sense did He not? Seeing that ‘suffering for long" calls for difficult situations to be accomplished.

b) I was watching your new video on BT: Where Did God Get His Knowledge? You went on explaining that wisdom is the principle thing and was in the beginning with God. And then you came to the part where you said ‘If Jesus had the fruits of the Spirit (that includes longsuffering which must be learned through experience) which He got from His father (God), then God must have went though some tough time acquiring it! (Hoping I’m not misquoted you). I agree that God long suffered for us. If you say again God doesn’t learn, is this a contradiction? Please clarify.

Thanks kindly

Christalfan

Dear Christalfan:  Like I have always been saying and teaching:  "We need to pay close attention TO ALL THE WORDS."  That includes my words and well as God's Word.

You seem to be quoting me as though I made my statement in the present tense, which I did not:  "...God DOES not suffer."  That is presently.

God be with you,

Ray
