Title: Thank You
Post by: Craig on August 11, 2006, 03:02:31 PM
 Dear Mr..  Smith,

Thank you for your website.  I have for years had a gnawing pain inside me that something was not quite right with the way most people view and understand the Bible.  I never found a church that I could agree with.  It always seemed to me that most, if not all of the churches I have attended have perverted the Gospels to fit their own political agendas.  I hate how visitors or even members of the church were judged just because of the type of clothing they would wear.  I would call people out on this and would get the response of that we are to respect the house of God.  I would tell them that Jesus wore a robe and sandals and God could give a rats behind what we were wearing.  I never understood how God who is love would torture His own children in a Lake of Fire for all eternity.  It just never made sense.  Who in their right mind would for one second tell their son or daughter that "I love you but if you do not obey me then I will send you into a burning eternal fire to be tormented for all eternity."  The other thing was the tithing.  I fail to see why the creator of all needs our money.  I told the pastor one day that I really think that God could care less if the church is big, ritzy and modernized and that what was important was the fellowship and worship of God.  You should have seen the look I got and not to mention the "special" sermon that followed the next Sunday.  I asked the pastor and some friends one day when we were having a discussion on the Bible if the believed that we had free will?  Their answer was of course, yes.  I asked them if they all thought that God was all powerful?  they agreed that God was.  I then asked them if they believed if God could see into the future, past and present and that He is outside the laws of time and space?  They agree d he was.  I then asked the question; If God is all powerful and can know what the future of man is then He already knows the decision we are going to make and that our free will is an illusion.  I won't even tell you what happen after that conversation but I bet you already know.  The reason I am telling you these things is that I never felt bad about my actions nor do I regret them.  I have been mothballed by most of my friends and family as a heretic and I am okay with it because I still try to get people to see the truth in the scriptures.  I feel it was a blessing that God pointed me to your site.  The first moment I started reading your site I knew that I was not alone and that there are other people out there that feeland think the same as I do.  Please do not lose heart and keep the truth coming.  Do not ever give up the fight for the truth of God.  God bless you and keep you safe.  Your friend and brother Ed..
