Title: Tithing
Post by: Craig on October 28, 2006, 09:37:55 AM
I wonder how long it would take the gospel to reach the world if everyone thought that giving tithes was unscriptural? Think about it.

    Thanks,
    Jimmy

    Dear Jimmy:

Cute!  As I believe, teach, and have written in my paper on "Tithing is Unscriptural Under the New Covenant," supporting those who teach the gospel is a fine and Scriptural thing to do. Fraudulantly teaching that tithing is still a law under the New Covenant, and not consists of taking ten percent of Believers total income (including poor and elderly widow's and widower's meager Social Securities checks), or be threatened with being CURSED WITH A CURSE from God Almighty, is one of those "DAMNABLE HERESIES" of which Peter spoke, and those who teach it will be severely chastised and reap the Wrath of God upon them if they do not bitterly repent.

    God be with you,

    Ray

If this is so, why didn't Jesus stop the widow from giving the two mites?
Just wondering.
In Jesus,
Jimmy

Dear Jimmy:
It is not a matter of "if" this is so, of course it is so.  The only thing that Jesus did physically against the two-faced lying hypocrital Pharisees and Priests was to chase the MONEY-changers out of the Temple.

Judea and Jerusalem were all under the OLD covenant during the ministry of Jesus Christ. And that Old covenant administration continued until  a whole generation after His crucifixion and resurrection.  The widow was contributing to the treasury which was permissible at the Temple.  She was decidedly NOT TITHING.  Tithes went to the priests of Levi, not the treasury.

The only two example of "tithing" discussed by Jesus both have to do with EVIL tithe-payers (Pharisees in both cases which were under the Old Covenant law and therefore needed to tithe).  Jesus never took a single penny of tithes from anyone (besides MONEY WAS NEVER A TITHABLE COMMODITY). Jesus never taught tithing on MONEY to His disciples and apostles.  Peter, James and John never too a penny of "tithe" money from anyone. The Believers contributed freely as they desired and were able. Paul who took the gospel to the Gentile world NEVER taught tithing; NEVER took "tithe" money; Paul worked for a living with his own hands making tents.  Had Paul taught the whole Gentile world to tithe ten percent of their gross annual product to him, he wouldhave been a BILLIONAIRE, for crying out loud, and would not have had to go hungry and work for his own living.

The damnable doctrine of demons in the Church today will be severely punished if those fraudulantly fleecing the flock do not bitterly repent.

God be with you,
Ray
