You are grossly incorrect about tithing. Tithing was required in the Old and New Testament. You need to read Matthew 23:23.
Matthew 23:23 (King James Version)
23Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Dear Nameless:
Boy I learn something new every day. So "YOU, SCRIBES and PHARISEES, HYPOCRITES....." were all member of the New Testament Church of Christ, were they? They tithed to Christ's Church, did they? This is proof that the followers of Jesus are to tithe to Jesus' church, is it? No, THEY were members of the Old Covenant law of Moses, and therefore were required to tithe to the Levites, NOT TO JESUS.
