Title: Aions
Post by: Craig on November 12, 2006, 10:58:43 AM
Hey, Ray:  In your article to Hagee you state under the first heading "Eons or Forever":   Christ reigns over these two eons because Rev. 15:3 plainly tells us that He is "King of the eons." Except the King James Version, that is. The King James has it "King of saints." The "exact" Greek word in this verse is "eons," not "saints" or "nations." The Greek word for "saints" is agion not aions.  Well, I've looked in e-sword and Interlinear Scripture Analyzer and two different Greek words used!  E-Sword shows G40 hagios and ISA shows G1484 ethnos .  Were do these differences come from and where is G165 aion?

Love your site, my brother, and you've got me studying.

In Christ,
Charlie

Dear Charlie:
Many manuscripts read "ages"/"eons."  I wouldn't make too much out of it. Jeremiah 10:7 says, "King of NATIONS," but then in verse 10 it also reads, "EONIAN King."
God be with you,
Ray
