Title: Help
Post by: Craig on June 27, 2006, 11:22:47 PM
Hi Ray Please could you help me understand this text!

MT 22:29 Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. 30 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. 31 But about the resurrection of the dead--have you not read what God said to you, 32 `I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'n ? He is not the God of the dead but of the living." (is this perhaps to say they are alive in Christ??)

Im not sure I understand who the Living are if they are meant to be dead.

Thanks Ray

Dear Wesley:

Most people fail to read this Scripture carefully and pay attention to the words.

In what way is God the God of the Livng for those  who are presently dead?

"But as TOUCHING THE  R-E-S-U-R-R-E-C-T-I-O-N  OF THE DEAD...." God is the God of the living. That's how.

God be with you,

Ray
