Title: Ray Very Sick
Post by: Dennis Vogel on February 20, 2009, 12:17:29 PM
Ray is very ill. The last few days he has gone downhill rapidly. He is very weak and can barely talk on the phone. He cannot walk or get up by himself.

He wants you to know that he will read your emails, but he cannot reply. If you have anything you would like to tell him: l.raysmith@comcast.net

The only thing that will save Ray now is a true miracle. God's will, will be done.

I sent an email and will be in constant prayer.

Psalm 139

11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,"
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, 16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

It's almost hard to bear each time I read about Ray's condition not getting better, My prayers like all of us is that Ray will still continue to declare the words of God in the land of the living. I pray that the miracle that we all earnestly await will happen, we'll keep praying, we'll keep believing. If there is anything we can do other than praying, (for those of us in UK), the moderators should let us know.

Hello, I will keep Ray and Family in my prayers. I have faith God can give Ray his miracle. I was in dire need of a Miracle the night I came in here. God used Ray to give me that Miracle. I was set free and had peace for the first time in my life. What ever way God decides to give his Miracle it will be the perfect one. Ray will live on in our lifes , because God choose this Humble Roofer.

Love to Ray and all his family and forum members.

No price can be put on the wealth of spiritual knowledge Ray has shared with us on this forum.  It will take the rest of my life to scratch the surface of all his teachings.  Gratitude is nowhere near a sufficient word.

I have prayed each day for Ray's health and for his family. My heart is saddened as I know everyone on this forum loves Ray and we all know that he has indeed been a wonderful blessing to multitudes.  His teachings will continue to bless until CHRIST returns and as Paul said it would be best for him to depart but a much greater blessing to others for him to remain.
Ray's teachings have given me the peace to die without fear and I selflessly continue to pray that GOD will spare Ray and his ability to continue teaching.
GOD Bless L. Ray Smith with the victory that is in CHRIST JESUS his LORD and Savior.
In HIM,

This is really sad.
I just joined the forum 3 weeks ago or so really hoping to be acquainted with Ray by listening and reading his teachings, and most importantly asking question and receiving answer to/from him directly.  And now, this.  :(

I pray that it is God's will to heal him, really.

Ray has taught many of us so much in such a short period of time. God has taught him everything we see on this forum and web site in just what - 12 years? Amazing. His calling and work reminds me of his roofing days. When Ray teaches a subject he backs it up with a myriad of scriptures. Likewise when he covered a roof he used many shingles to produce the final product.

If it is God's will not to heal Ray at this time it indicates to me that the return of Jesus is very, very close. The world, especially in the past few months seems to be going into a tailspin that will most likely continue to escalate. Over the past 60 plus years the United States has been a "glue" that has held the world together in reasonable peace. But it's beginning to look like the glue holding everything together is starting to come apart and if that happens all hell is going to break loose worldwide.

If Jesus is going to return soon then one way or the other Ray will be healed. Thank you Ray for being a faithful and diligent servant of God and teaching us so much knowledge and understanding. We all love you and as you have said many times - God be with you.

dearest ray,
i truly do not know where to start, or how to start this reply. i reread one of your email response from 2/04/06 from a woman who was in need of spiritual, emotional, and physical uplifting. you told her at the end of your email response to her that "miracles still happen".  i have prayed often for you since we were first told of your physical condition, and especially after meeting you in nashville this past september. i have cried out to God for your complete healing, and have cried out to God that if indeed this cup could not pass from you, that His Will be done. but as i sit here now typing this email to you, this prayer comes forth out of my heart. dear heavenly Father, whether it be by Your miraculous healing Power restoring ray's physical health, or whether it be by Your allowing the putting off of the tent of ray's physical body, and causing him to sleep, awaiting his resurrection, i plead that you remove the physical suffering which our brother has endured. in the Name of Christ Jesus i pray, amen.

i love you ray. your manuela is also in my prayers.

Well, I pray that it's God hearing our prayers and beginning Ray's healing.  I did not sleep well after hearing this news and it was on my mind when I woke up this morning.  I have seen miracles before and believe that Ray has plenty more to offer us.  I have only recently become acutely aware of the work Ray has put into his studies.  His heart has certainly been on only Christ for quite some time.

God bless Ray and his family and keep them safe and strong.

Thank you so much for doing what you do. I've never met any of you, but our hearts are intertwined here on this forum. We are linked together here in the love of Christ no matter what, we will always be a part of each other. My love to you and Rene' and all the people who make BibleTruths a place of fellowship, learning, and praising God for loving all His children! Dear Ray,

Sorry you have to experience intense physical pain, many of us whine about our lot in life,
that includes myself, but to experience it for such a long stretch, like you have, is something
none of us want to suffer. I've been physically healthy most of Life, experiencing two accidents
that almost led to death. I've dealt mostly with emotional sickness and spiritual sickness, too.
You are Spiritually strong, but we hope and pray that it's God's Will that He makes you Physically
             well again.

All of us(the whole world of mankind) that have died and those yet to experience death require
a Resurrection. For those of us who know the truth, our hope is in the Resurrection, because,
if there's no Resurrection, we are the most foolish of men. (1Cor. 15:12-19)

We selfishly hope that it's not your time to fall asleep and that God has more Spiritual work
for you to do and is not yet finished with you.

Our prayers and thoughts unuttered are in your behalf.

             Samson and The Freckle Girl.

Hey ray im praying for you. I just want you to remember that when i first read your writtings at the young age of 16, you truly showed me that God is indeed real and that He does love.

You showed me that the spirit of God is alive and it lives in those whom He has called and chosen. Its a blessing to read everything you write and i thank God that He opened my eyes, through His vessel you are.

I'm praying for a miracle ray. I know it's all in God's hands. But i want you to know that.

You have no only reached those of your age but young people as well, like myself. That is a miracle in and of itself. A miracle of God that you were so blessed to be apart of and still are. That i am blessed to be apart.

God is with you ray i have no doubt of this. Though you might be physically fragile to me, you've always beeen a spiritual giant in my eyes. Thank you for everything you've done ray. All of it.

God bless you brother.

With so much love in our Savior.

Your little brother,

Alex

I did send an e mail to Ray and (bless his heart) he wrote me back!  I printed it to keep it.  I just marvel that he would take the time to answer given his pain and such.

As he may not be reading the forum, make sure to send him your love by e mail.  All our prayers are not in vain.  God is Good and His Plan is Perfect for each and every one of us.

In this world we shall not have peace for we are in judgement on the House of God now which is * training, schooling, disciplining, chastising power that changes our character from carnal to godly. And what is the result of ail this? PEACE!  LOF part 3

We know from where our Peace comes....... from God "When God grants us "PEACE."

Until then we are still in training, chastising power of God training us with Ray right up there ahead of us all! What a Godly example we have to encourage us all.

It's saddening :( to hear how sick Ray is. I have only known BT only for a few months and have learnt a lot, with God using Ray to confirm a lot I had "seen" but afraid to tell others about. I thank the LORD for the gift Ray has been and continues to be though he can not respond to emails or post new stuff. May God be praised even in this difficult situation.

Question: Will we have another Ray?

P.S If I sound as if Ray has passed on, please forgive me for that's not my intention.

The circumstances the Lord has appointed me to is increasing and heightening uncertainty. He showed me today that if James could state that we do not know what tomorrow brings, then why should I know!

We all want him go get better and I hope that our motives are not selfish. I would really like to be properly understood in this post. I think that it wouldn't be a bad idea if some one can keep a recorder next to Ray ...

Just my opinion, but I would say that's quite selfish! Bad idea, if you ask me!

Hi all and Hi Ray,

I could not believe my eyes when I read about Ray. I've been studying his sight since my little guy was born and he's now 5.

I used to be on this forum when it first popped up but rarely posted so I was automatically deleted. It was'nt until recently that I noticed the message on the home page of the site and I wanted to drop in and wish Ray all the best. Its a tough thing to witness a friend in pain like this as I have seen it way to often.

The one thing that gives us hope is the very fact God works in mysterious ways and what is obvious to the eyes is on many occasions a simple test if faith. We will not know until the Lord makes His will known..

God has done a tremendous work in Ray and through Ray. I am LIVING proof of that. Whatever the Lord wills I know it is the best for Ray and Gods plan.

Sorry for babbling on. I just wanted to share the burden on everyones hearts in this tough time.

May God bless all and give Ray healing and strength.

Dave

I have been studying Ray's teachings for many years now and wanted to join the forum to convey my love, appreciation and support to our gifted brother in Christ. With heavy heart I pray for my brother. I pray for his wife. May our Lord and Saviour continue to use Ray and his teachings and his website and this forum to further the gospel message of His Kingdom - In Jesus' name.

Dennis,
It has been almost a month since you updated about Ray, unless I missed an update. Just wondering if he is still about the same. I was wondering if his condition has improved at all. Daily prayers go out for him. Please tell him we are still and always praying!

Well said Ninny. I think and pray daily for Ray, his family and friends, and the forum family. Sometimes I am afraid to ask. I am glad you did as I am sure all of us have the same thoughts and prayers. Peace

Thank you, Dennis. I appreciate it.  :'(  I know it is hard for all of us, we don't know how Ray is and we are sometimes afraid to ask! We so want him to be healed! I know he would want us all to understand that he is in God's care. He is living according to God's time and will. I don't want us to ever forget that, even though I have never met him, I know that he is still the same Ray he was when each of us first came upon Bible-Truths. He has the same passion for the truth as always and I also know that he expects for us to treat the truth in scripture like the pearl of great price that we are always willing to sell all we have to purchase it. I think of his dear family, they have had to share him with all these people whom they don't even know! I pray that God will increase their strength. "The prayer of faith shall save the sick and the Lord will raise him up." Js.5   All according to God's will.
Hugs,
Kathy

I don't go but about an hour or so each day and not think of Ray.  He has sacrificed so much of his life for all of us.  We have all been so blessed by his faithfulness to God and his hours of study and writing and audios.  Thank you all as well that
are part of his team to get all of his writings, emails and audio and videos to us, a million thanks really!

You all have changed my life with this website.  God has been so good to me and my husband to lead us to the website
about 1 year ago, we have been through soooooo much of the material and do so every day.  I listen to Ray's teachings
every night on my ipod and during the day.  I have multiple binders full of printed up teachings by Ray that I go over again and again!

I love you all and pray that it is God's will to heal Ray and spare him some pain and discomfort.  Words will never express
just how much my life has been forever changed because of God allowing us to find you all!  Kelli

Ditto Phil 3:10,

Everytime i log onto the forum, i first check for any updates from Dennis Vogel. If there is none than an 'arrow-prayer' is immediately shot up for Ray.

I'm sure we all feel the same for Ray to recover soon(er). Lets be patient and steadfast in our continued prayer for our teacher-Ray and his family.

In faith,

FYI:

Dear Marques:  Thank you for your concern for my health and well-being, Marques.  I am not well.  I am sick and in pain along with many other trials such as a horrible rash for the past four months, a dozen or so painful lumps under my arms and other places, etc.  I am in no condition to be writing or holding Bible Studies at present. I do not know what the next year or few months hold.  I am totally exhausted most of the time. I am meditating on a half dozen papers including "23 Minutes in Hell" and my next Lake of Fire Series, but nothing to be finanized for some time. Hope you understand.
God be with you always, and thank you for your help and service to Bible-Truths.

Ray

This is an email response I received from Ray...I had asked about his current condition (email reply was Friday), what chance on holding a bible study and/or bible conference, and what papers/subjects is he working on.

I initially was not going to post, but I knew I would want to be informed if the shoe was on the other foot. Please continue to keep Ray in your prayers, thanks.

My prayers for healing continue, but mostly that the suffering ends.  Thy will be done.

Marques, it's hard to hold back the tears, isn't it? Oh to just get word that there is some improvement. His reply to me wasn't as bleak as what he wrote to you, but we have to understand that he is suffering a great deal. We just all need to keep praying as we have been that God's will be done. Thanks Marques, for sharing.

Marques, Thanks for telling us about Ray. I will keep him in my prayers. I pray all the time for him. I have had a lot of pain for quite a few days that kept me from studying Ray's papers. I am trying to spend most of my time on Ray's papers and the Bible. But, I like to come in and check on any news of Ray and also to see all the new members. Every time I see a new member I think how blessed we all are to have Ray. God is using him in a mighty way. God is with Ray every step of the way. It just never ceases to amaze me, that Ray's thoughts are to return to Gods work. God has showed us a great example of an overcomer.

This should increase all of our faith. I thank God he has enabled me to be back into studying Ray's papers and the Bible I find something new everyday and see God opening my understanding more and more each day.

I love all my Brothers and Sisters in Christ and we all feel the pain for our Brother Ray.

In His Love,
Marlene

My heart cannot deny a deep distress of Ray's current struggle with cancer. But only faith keeps me grasping for HOPE that God's will be fulfilled in the end.

It's hard to know that Ray is in pain and has these hard trials all the time. I feel very bad for his situation. In all this suffering, I remember what the doctors told him when they first discovered his cancer. They said he had a very short time left to live. Didn't happen.

Only God knows what is in store - let's pray that God gives Ray the strength to get through this, no matter what the outcome is. To me it is already a miracle that he is still able to answer emails, considering the condition he is in. He is so strong! God bless him, and all of you.

Hello I am very new here and I was wondering why there was no new articles posted on the site. I had thought Ray was getting better. I agree with the other fellow who wrote about "barely scratching the surface" I am so grateful to have found this information I have been looking for it all my life (my husband too). Things have been so dismal here until we found the article on tithing. Finances have been really bad for a long time and there have been "fellow believers" that have indicated we are being punished for not tithing....that is how we found the site (google) and we have been so blest and much freed by all we have read....and there is so much more. Thanks you so much for all the time and effort and attention to the smallest detail....We pray you will be in peace and all assurance and confidence of Him that sent you and called you. Again thank you so very much.....so much pain there has been taught to us that has been undone by the truth..it really has set us free.

Ray,

I pray God's will be done. You,sir, changed my life, or God through you actually. You have been mightily used of God, that I know.  Because of your website I found the God who truly is Love, and I now know of His Wonderful plan to save His creation.  It all makes sense to me now, again, thanks to all the countless hours of work and study you've put into the writings we all can now read.  May our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ comfort you and bring you peace.

Should I be able to overcome, you and I will have a visit, sir.

I second this.  This is what it is all about and what we can be assured of.  We can discuss and debate topics that have no clear answer forever, but we must not lose sight of the fact that Our Father really does love His creation and through our birthing process will make us His children.

Hello,
Ray, this is a something I have wanted to get off my chest for a while now and have been debating as to whether I should join this forum or not as I am by nature not a chatty person. I would like to express my profound gratefulness and awe as to the workings of our Lord through having found your website.
I have for years negleted my spiritul growth and had no idea of the time I was wasting until I had a brain aneurysm and then I just knew that my time had come to seek and find my Creator. I prayed in that hospital while I was recovering and since then, have not stopped searching for the answers I knew I had to find. I searched the web and read many Christian websites, but nothing satisfied my thirst for profound insights into the Scriptures.
I thank our Lord God through the Glory of Jesus Christ that I have now found the anwers and explanations you have provided through the Grace of our Lord Jesus. Ray, I am sorry that you are so very ill and salute your wisdom and strength in the Lord Jesus. May He comfort you and please know that you have touched the lives of many, many people in a positive and profound way. May the Saints intervene through our prayers to the One who sits on the Highest Throne for your recovery. We still need you! God's Will Be Done.

Dennis and forum family,

Still praying for Ray's condition to improve and to strengthen his resolve.
We care and desire the best, but really don't know what it is like until it is our turn to face difficult circumstances.
We can only accept what God provides and place our full trust in our Lord.
