I agree, no one is good (absolutely no one), but that shouldn't negate the good God does.

Jas 1:17  Every generous act and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights; with Him there is no variation or shadow cast by turning.

If there is anyone here or in the world that is “decent” and “wants to do good”, then it comes from above. The relative is just as true as the absolute, if you understand all is of God.

The verses you are referring to pertain to “the many called”. It's easy to see the world is in a terrible state, but it's hard to see from the Scripture how terrible the many who call Jesus Lord really are. The many think God is talking about the world, but in reality, He is talking about them.

Mat 23:27  "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of dead men's bones and every impurity.

Mat 23:28  In the same way, on the outside you seem righteous to people, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

2 Timothy 3:13 is no different.

Mat 24:5  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

My 5-year-old son said something to me the other day that really impressed me. He asked: "killing is bad, right? And only love is good?" Where did that come from? Not from me (my son and I don't discuss such complicated theology much :D ), not from the body of Christ, but it came from above. Such a simple truth that hardly any adult believes.

It's good to struggle, Ralph, the trial of your faith is much more precious than gold. If it's not trying your faith, it's worthless.

Salvation, deliverance, healing and any other reasonable translation and/or synonym are always FROM something.  "Salvation" is not some "spiritual" mustard that gets smeared on us, or handed over on a platter like a block of cheese.  I'm convinced there are as many "salvations" as there are things to be saved from.  Among these is insufficient understanding of truths.  But it's only "among" these.  The lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life cover them all, spiritually speaking.

That's really interesting Dave.  I never quite thought of it that way.

Here's a great quote from Mr. Rogers.

When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “look for the helpers, you will always find people who are helping”.

Not only did God create evil, He created good too. It's easy to find the bad, but if you look, you can find the good too. Often, good and bad are in the same place at the same time.

I loved Mr. Rogers and watched his show often as a young boy.  His show helped me through some very dark times as a child, but I now look to the Word of God and Body of Christ for strength and advice.

I am honestly not searching for bad things...  They are everywhere and getting worse (2 Timothy 3:13).

It depends on what you mean by "good". Sure a lot of people claim to be good helpers, but when push comes to shove, most people show their true colors and only wish to help and glorify themselves.  Only God is good.  God tells us what we are here:

Romans 3:10-18

10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:

14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:

16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:

17 And the way of peace have they not known:

18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.

I don't want it to be this way, which is the reason I become overwhelmed with with bouts of weakness and sadness from time to time. Again, not just what is happening in the world, but also the struggles within myself.

This forum is the only place that I know of (and believe me, I looked), where there are truly descent people that are seeking after God and want to do good.

2John 1:3… Grace be with you  ,mercy and peace from God the Father and from the
Lord Jesus Christ, THE SON OF THE FATHER.

Ray taught , Jesus Christ is the Son of the Father, the Supreme Deity. He was conceived
by the Holy Spirit of the Father ( God’s power) and therefore He is the Son of the Father.

Matt.1:18… Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: when as His mother Mary
Was espoused to Joseph , before they came together, she was found with Child of the Holy Ghost.
V20…. for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.

Amplified Bible….she was found to be with Child by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Contemporary English Version….. she was going to have a baby by God’s Holy Spirit.

But if the Holy Spirit is a person ( human flesh and blood) as taught by trinitarians, then
the Holy Spirit is the Father of Jesus and should be stated. IT IS NOT.

And one more thing ……. In all of Paul’s greetings in his epistles, not once does he acknowledge
the Holy Spirit.

In Christ , Pamela

Actually, of the three mentioned in the doctrine of the trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), there is only one who could be described as a person--the Son.  This Ray pointed out.

Ralph, this is what Ray is talking about...the doctrine or teaching of the trinity.  Your friend may be having doubts about "the trinity", but his mind is still there.  Let's avoid turning the doctrine of a trinity into a doctrine of a duality.  We've not "demoted" a "person" at all.

GOD is SPIRIT.  He'll have to figure out what "Spirit" is on his own.

I agree that these are very tough times to watch what is happening in the world. I tell my wife that what is happening is supposed to happen as God has planned all and His will shall be done. She does not like to hear that because she thinks if we would all just repent (that free will thing again) that God will stop what is happening. I no longer tell her that it is not about what we can do to make things happen (I.e., WORKS). Even though I hate what I see, and especially to our country, I am sanguine about it NOW, after Ray’s teaching. I know that it will all work out in the end, and we will ALL have immortality with and in the Elohim family. What could be more wonderful than that?

Yes, I know all will be right in the end, but that, for me at least, doesn't make the pain disappear.

Even Jesus was moved and wept upon seeing the people weeping for Lazarus, knowing that in a few short moments he would raise him from the dead.

These victims are alone in their suffering.  They don't have the same comfort that we have.  It's just a very sad thing to witness and from time to time, it gets the better of me.  Thank you everyone for taking the time and for your responses.

Jesus Weeps over Jerusalem

41 And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, 42 saying, “Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. 43 For the days will come upon you, when your enemies will set up a barricade around you and surround you and hem you in on every side 44 and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”

The entire creation will one day never even want to remember what sin is,  the result of sin in this life will be enough.   The glorious life beyond this is unimaginable.  Forcus on the goal.
