Lol, Rap, some of these rap guys wear crosses so big and pure gold, makes the Popes cross look like a piece of junk. Rap is not music, its religion.

LOL funny, Rhys!

I used to like rap about 15 years ago. . . still listen to it once in awhile. My brother is a rapper and his debut album will be released next month.

Indeed.  I've learned so much from the people all around me, and continue to do so with every new person I meet.  Little things, big things, good and bad.  I'm learning to appreciate the uniqueness of everybody.

Rap is not music, its religion.
That's quite the statement you've got there.  At least you got the "some" right.

Interesting Extol.  Is your brother good?  What's his name?

I like some rap. I appreciate the poetry and the skill required to get right. But I'm not a fan of much of it because of the vulgar lyrics.

I like this and consider it lite rap.

I hear it's a great way to make money in the music industry, without having to make music!! But what do I know?? I'm a hard rock type of guy.

Thanks for sharing that Dennis,
I'm old school, 50's, 60's, Korean Police Action etc.
I was always told that profanity was the evidence of a weak mind trying to act forcefully.
I listened to your suggested Rap offering and did appreciate it. I think I will share with some friends of this generation.
Just goes to show that it can be done with class.
Regards, Indiana Bob

I like a lot of rap, but I've always considered vocals to be part of the rhythm section.  Phrasing is an often overlooked skill in all types of music.  Don't ask me who they are, however...just as I don't know who does what in any of the new music I hear these days.

I don't like it because I can't do it.   >:(  Plus, I'd look kinda out of place in the audience at a live show.  Their loss.   ;D

That's a pretty nice one Dennis.

lol Dave, I can totally see you at a show.  Your presence would make the show better IMO.

I think it would too, Loc.  Nothing makes a show better than an old guy poking people, saying, "Eh?  What's that he said?"

I would have loved having my grandfather doing that at a Bob Dylan show.

I still love Arrested Development (yeah yeah there's a joke). I also like some Talib Kweli and Mos Def. Not sure if YouTube videos post here but this song by Arrested Development is genius, timeless.

I've always liked the joke, music is like candy, you have to throw away the wrappers.

My family always makes me do the rapping of presents so I'd say I'm not a fan of this whole rap thing.I prefer to just buy the presents and offer them unrapped as they are.

Here's a transcript.

LEFT I hid in the cleft left the listeners bereft of the time theft
(unintelligible) heft the rap is (unintelligible) deft
and I struggle to heft (unintelligible)
whatever is left is

RIGHT not looking to fight I will rap you all night and I think that I might
(unintelligible) fight  my rhymes are that tight
flying high as a kite (unintelligible) night (or was it knight?)
(unintelligible) fright till they turn off the light.

What's left is right.

(Slams microphone down with authority, but accidentally hits foot)

I love it Dave and Loc, it sounded like so much fun, would have loved to have been there too.

It's not about the music genres at all, it's about the positive affect it has. Just like Dave rapping sounds like it was a great fun time for all, whether they could understand it or not, ha ha.
