Title: 2008 Nashville Conference Blog
Post by: hillsbororiver on September 19, 2008, 08:26:03 AM
I thought it might be interesting to have a blog/diary in regard to all that is going on at the Conference and to answer questions from members who are unable to attend.

I will start;

On the way to the airport now........

Peace,

Joe

It's 0500 out on the West side. All the critters are fed, going to eat some breakfast, clean up, and then I'll head toward the airport.

  Thankyou Joe,

Pam and I are on that Airplane with you in Spirit, the weather is clear and the Pilot has his instructions for a smooth flight and landing. Hopefully someone will put some photos of our Brothers and Sisters. If Sorin shows up, tell him I said Hello. The same for GMik, Dr. Carol Beloved, Dave in Tennesee and the rest of the tribe too.

If it's Chinese on Friday night, I'll have Pork Lo Mein Combination platter, if it's Mexican, how about a Large Soft Taco with real steak. On second thought, let's have N.Y. Strip Steak, Stuffed Baked Potatoe, Brocoli with cheese, a large tossed salad with Bleu Cheese dressing, sauteed mushrooms and onions on top of the Steak, cheese cake for dessert; sounds like my favorite meal, indeed it is.

Shucks, I'll have to wait until next year, we are saving up already, Above is the Carnal, we will gladly anticipate the Spiritual, that's provided during this conference with pleasure;  :D

With Love, Samson and Delilah(oops, I mean The Freckle Girl).

Just another Day at Work for me... :-\
[Grateful that I have one]

Next Year, I "hosie" a seat next to Samson & the Freckle Girl...since both He and my Husband will be ordering the same thing [if it's steak] that's his favorite also, even the dessert...Sometimes he likes to get the sweet potato with the brown sugar & cinnamon....

Of course we all know where the true feasting will be done...

Shutting down and packing up. I am taking two laptops to the conference. I have verizon air card for Internet,  I am in the process of moving stuff from one to the other and changing frm netscape to Microsoft Office...ugh

All people getting picked up at the airport should have made contact with the person meeting them and hopefully all will connect. Do not forget the cell phone numbers.

I plan to be at the hotel around 2:00. I have to feed the fish before I leave..big Koi.  ;D

Pulling my stuff together.  Got the batteries recharged for the camera...now if I can just remember to bring the camera.   :D  Didn't sleep well last night.  Partly a bit worried about not being very 'holy' and partly just looking forward.  Obviously, I don't know anybody here in person, but I'm praying we feel the same warmth or greater than we do over this cooler internet thingamajig.  Mostly nervous about meeting Ray, if God should allow it.  At another time, things might be different, but this is the day God has made so I'll try to rejoice and be glad in it.

Off for my promised shower, another mow down of the stubble and a quick pack up.

Hi All Conference Attendees,

Thanks for so much Caring and Sharing on the Forum, please know that this is my Home for now. I check in all day at work just to see and read what is going with my New Family. Any little titbit from the conference will be gobbled up with pleasure. My Prayer is that All of us use the knowledge GOD GIVES us through Ray to the Highest and Best Use.

George.

Hi George,
I attended last year and learned and shared so much.  I'm sure we will receive good reports beginning Sunday night.

I took a look at your web site and it resembles an internet mall.  You seem to have a little bit of everything.
Well, that's just about the same as we have here on the forum only it is a lot of everything.

I would be interested in understanding a little of how your business runs and how much time you need to devote to it.
Also, great photo, great smile.

Regards, Indiana Bob

:D Just a big halo from JOYCE...hoping Ray is getting the rest he needs leading up to his presentations, and that his health improves continually!

You guys have a wonderful trip....I am excited for you all and can't WAIT to see the pics and read the text!  Try to post your impressions and thoughts as the conference unfolds. Anyone have digital cam corder to upload short clips? Beloved, can your laptop do that? You could even post them temporarily on YouTube? ::::jumping up and down with excitement!:::: I feel like a little kid that was left "home alone" when their parents took off on vacation!!!  I say we paint the walls around this place while they're gone....who's with me??   ;D

Well we had a really nice gathering tonight. Ray is doing well, he is getting rest . He did come down and gave a preview of what he is going to talk about and people who never met him were able to talk with him a bit.  Saturday will be a prelude and Sunday will be the proof. Ray then went back up and rested and the rest of us blabbered on.

Randy is drinking lots of coffee, he really seems to be enjoying meeting people, Rene and Joe are have been greeting all. I had a nice talk with Claudia (C J Woods) and Kat. AKr4 is here, CEO is here too and Beau and the Baby. There are a lot of people here that are not on the forum.

There are some I did not get to talk to tonight.  We had a bigger crowd than usual for the first night, we expect to meet more tomorrow.  It is so great to meet and talk in person.

Harry plans to get something up on the forum as soon as he can, Kat will need time to get the transcripts. I do not know how she does it, I can't type that fast.

Looks like I created a monster, before leaving for work, should have stayed home. Someone stole the plans for the Teleportation Device, I saw the Millinium Falcon fly by, while at work. What kind of Aliens, are you people at Bible Truths;  ;) ;D

Now I'm home sweet home, I repeat, nobody but nobody gets to have The Freckle Girls Freckles, they are a masterpiece, a work of Art, I counted them the other day, 1352, from the waist up, she has stars, crosses, boots and L's.

Well Joe and I had a nice breakfast at Cracker Barrel and shared a lot of the things that we have been shown and how they impacted our personal lives.

Yesterday Ray's morning teaching covered why the "young earth" people think  the way they do,  but in the afternoon he started hitting their beliefs with the truth, today he is going totally show what the scriptures say, but they cannot see or recivee yet.  We are also going to get a handout too.

I am glad that I brought my laptop I was able to copy and paste the scriptures and some comments into esword topics so I can study these while the transscript is being typed up.

At present the speed is 33.6Kbps. Sometimes it is as slow as 23 and quite occasionally, I am cut off and have to redial which increases the cost because connection and not the duration, is where the cost to be on line is calculated on this short wave access.  :)

Hi Arcturus, and welcome back! It has been a long wait - but now you're back, even if the connection is slow! You might try turning off images in your web browser, that should speed things up a bit.

I don't know, I guess the conference is nearing its end, and this thread didn't exactly become a blog for the conference, now did it??

God bless you,

Yes Eirik the blog thing did not work out quite as I planned, my fault as I forgot my password until just a few minutes ago......... ::)

Anyway, I will write down a few of our (many great) experiences here a bit later as a group of us are presently getting ready to get a bite to eat.

I will leave you with this though......

Just got back home a few minutes ago.  The whole Nashville Metro area is sort of in chaos with gas shortages, but I everybdy I talked with was prepared for the drive out of the area where gas was available.

The only part of the conference I missed was saturday evening's informal get-together as I made the mistake of strectching out on the motel bed to ease my back and fell asleep.

There were too many people to meet everybody individually (especially if you're a bit shy like me) but I had some really nice 'row-mates' and got to meet most of the folks I'd come to know from the forum.

I didn't have to sit on Akira's lap, but I did have the blessing of standing next to his heart a couple of times.  If I can be like him one of these days, I'll be blessed.  Love my brother.

Met all the mods present, Kat, Joe and Dennis.  Had to hug Kat, but being 6'4'' made that a bit of a task.   :D  I met a lot of the other forum members as well and got to spend a little time with one of our new members, Jody Edwards (I think that's the right last name) who was there with his oldest son.  He's a really nice fellow too and I hope we'll hear more from him in fellowship here.

A shout out to Rene who made everybody feel extra welcome, I think.

The conference started a little rocky with some technical issues, but it evened out.  I'll say more later, maybe, but for now I'll just share that while much of the conference changed my mind, the last hour changed my life.  What a truly awesome God we have and what a tremendous blessing to get to know Him more this weekend.

At the end, I got my 'minute' with Ray and, though I could do little more than babble like an idiot, I hope I was able to express my deep thanks not just for what he endured for the conference, but for all he's meant to me these last few life-changing months.  My thanks also to all the others who did their part to make the conference possible, and in getting the materials ready for the rest of us.

I'm really glad I went.  I'm also glad to be home to satisfy the forum jonesing I've experienced.   :D

Well I will say it was a great joy to be among so many Believers.  To meet people for the first time and feel an instant bond through the spirit, was such a wonderful experience.  There was a good number that I met from the forum and I am so thankful for those precious few mins we had together  :)

Ray gave his presentations with strength and vigor, in spite of his arm, which seemed to give him more trouble as the weekend went on.
He totally debunked the young earth theory with some proofs that made the proponents of it seem ridiculous.  He explained the 'days' of creation giving much explanation and many Scriptures that prove these were not literal 24 hr periods.  He also explained where dinosaurs fit in the creation and how old the earth is.  He had quite a bit to say about Noah's flood and did it cover the earth, he brought to light many physical things that do prove the truth about this.

Well there will have to be patience, as this is going to take a bit of time to be prepared before it can be posted.

mercy, peace and love

Delivered from the pulpit, so to speak?  Some.  But what I mostly noticed (and the way I experienced it) was in the discussions and in reflection since.  To me, the conference was something of a parable...a physical story with deep spiritual applications.  Understanding such concepts as the 'evening, morning' and answering questions like "Did God ever do an honest day's work?" opens up tons of scripture and Glorifies God exponentially.  I expect the same thing will happen for the listeners/viewers/readers and here in the Forum.

Good answer Dave.  Do understand, Ray was not able to work on pulling this all together the last few weeks before the conference and he has been under a great deal of stress.  But he was determined to make it to this conference.  He was using a big file folder that he would pull out one of his research papers and scan it for information he wanted to present.  He did the best he could do under the circumstances.

I think as Dave does about what he gave us, it "opens up tons of scripture and Glorifies God exponentially."  This whole thing concerning 'day' applies to so many Scriptures, there is much to build upon here.

What you express Kat is so important because I need to understand more about what the "DAY" of the Lord means. I hope to be enlightened. I just feel that so much more clarity is waiting to be revealed as the transcripts and audios are posted for us enthusiastic patiently anticipating members who could not be at the Conference. My heart which is one among I am sure MANY of us, were with you ALL.

Hey Eirik, thank you for your welcome back. I learnt many valuable approaches to writing through your very first posts here in the forum.

Iris, a warm THANK YOU for your welcome back.

Hi Arcturus, glad you are able to be with us more  :)

Ray did not go over that point in particular.  But I think he gave more than enough info, that we will be able to apply this to other Scripture.  I can already see many implication for this 'day' in Scripture.

This is going to be difficult because there is no way I can respond to all the wonderful posts preceding this one. My experience this past weekend was one that I will always remember even though virtually all the neat and concise plans I made did not work out at all. First off when starting this thread I intended to post snippets here and there about the folks who showed up, how we were interacting, the informal fellowships with Ray and all our Brothers and Sisters who were able to attend as well as the overall mood of the group as we spent time together.

You would not believe the frustration I experienced when I first had the opportunity to get on line and post and then having a mental block in remembering my password, it is stored on my home computers as well as my work computer so I have not physically typed it in in years, what a humbling and embarrassing time that was! It was not until Sunday afternoon when out of the blue (not even thinking about it) when my memory bank coughed it up, all my great plans were dashed, not only in regard to this but also the plans I had in regard to spending some quality fellowship with Kat, Patrick, Bobby (Tenn), Marques, Antawain. We had talked about delving into certain (different) topics together but for one reason or another interruptions and unforseen circumstances prevented us from doing so in the manner planned. One of the great reasons was that Ray was in much better form than I had hoped, he was available for hours on Friday and Saturday nights to sit and visit with as many as 30 or 40 of us in the hotel lobby informally tossing around ideas and answering questions, unplanned but what a great surprise on so many levels.

Being able to see Charles (CEO), Dave (Tenn), Beau, Claudia, Musicman, etc. (too many to name, apologies for those I missed) and feed off of their enthusiasm was just one example of how awesome this sharing of His Spirit was for me, there truly was something very special happening there and I want to thank each and every attendee as well as those who were with us in spirit for making this something I will always cherish, I will add more specifics in the next day or two but I just got back a couple hours ago and have so much to do in preparation for another trip I will be leaving for on Wednesday (also at work for an important meeting tomorrow).

You are all very special and important to me, His Peace to you!

Your perspective brings home another warm aspect of what had to have been a most enriching and Grace filled event for you all. I enjoyed and really can connect to the frustration and pain you mentioned when the plans you made were altered by quote unforeseen circumstances prevented us ...which again simply but quite deftly with a hint of the salt of fire with authourity shows again that HE is in control! You have left with me another name to describe Him....[He is the author of our i]unforeseen circumstances.[/i] Beautiful!

Hi everybody,

I'm just seeing this thread this morning (Tuesday) for the first time.  I didn't arrive home from Nashville until 6:30 PM Monday.  This past weekend was everything I had hoped it would be and more!

I'm getting ready for work, so I don't have much time to post as many thoughts as I would like, but I do want to say that this conference has not only drawn me closer to this brotherhood of believers, but more importantly, it has increased my love and knowledge for our heavenly Father and Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus.  I thank God for blessing all of us in such a huge way!

A shout out to all the forum members who contributed to my joy this past weekend: Dennis, Joe, Kat, Patrick, Beloved, Bobby, Dave, Antaiwan, Marques, Claudia, Randy, Jody, Ray Ray, Uncle Beau, Gina, and CEO (Charles), (forgive me if I left anyone out).  As well as those who promised to join the forum, Maria and Dorothy.

Love and peace to you all,

René

We got back Sunday night as most of you saw we had to leave a couple hours early. You have to understand last year at Mobile was my first conference and not many people were there, especially people that actually talked to each other much. This year it seemed like more people came out of their proverbial shells. Nola and I learned a lot and we discussed the times in scripture where it reveals spiritual insight on being destroyed and reborn over and over. The prodigal son, there was evening and there was morning, chaos to order. These are all examples for our admonition. The amount of papers Ray could write on that would be astronomical (no pun intended). Overall we had a great time meeting new people and exposing Harley to good teaching. Just so you all know she was making noise and "talking" a whole lot more this weekend than she has before.

What a great conference!  Ray did an outstanding job and opened my eyes to many things.  I am embarrassed to admit it but I had based my creation understanding on Dr. Carl Baugh's writings - thank you Ray for setting me straight.

It was my first conference and it was such a great pleasure to meet so many wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ such as Rene (a very charming lady), Matt from New York, Dave in Tenn, Musicman, Kat, Dennis, Harry, Bob, Ray-Ray, Gina and so many others.

Dave Tenn - I'm sorry to hear that you didn't make Ray's talk in the lobby on Saturday evening.  It was very eye opening.  He discussed one of his ideas that he wasn't ready to discuss in the conference.  I discussed it with Matt from New York at length that evening to work out the details and must say that I think Ray is correct in his theory on Genesis 1:26-27.  It took me a while but I now see how his theory makes logical sense with the rest of scripture.  Thank you for sharing Ray!

Thank you everyone,
Jody Edwards

I am just about to experience a real contrast in past and present realities as we head up to New York for a good old friend's daughter's wedding...

The Conference was an extremely spiritual time for me as I interacted (not as much as I would of liked due to time constraints) with Brothers and Sisters who share a bond not of this world and now I am heading back to a place where old friends (since childhood) will be reminding me (in a "good" natured way) of some of my past that would perhaps (for me) be better forgotten or at least left in dusty old archives.

Overall I am sure it will be a very pleasant time but there is no doubt I will be comparing this trip with Nashville and truly realize what a starkly different reality the Lord has brought me to in this journey.

It will be interesting.

Peace,

Joe
