You as naive is the furthest thing from my mind. You're as sharp as they come, and one of the most positive people I know. It may just be you've discovered peace and happiness in your soul.

Thanks, Pamela, but it was more of a rhetorical question, seeing how the answer was in the parables cited.

Porter, your questions are all answered in three transcripts of Rays teaching.

Your question…. Can we obey the old while serving the new?
Answer is in THE MYTH OF FREE WILL EXPOSED,,,, LOF pt.15

Heading——- The Ten Commandments Are Spiritual, begin there.

For your scriptures of Matt.6:22-24
Light and darkness, see transcript Guilty of all.

And for 2 Cor. 6:14….. Ray gives an excellent teaching in transcript on Love
and this actually ties in to the Matt.6 scriptures also.

May God grant you the gold nuggets you are digging for.

Love in Christ, Pamela

In the spirit of laying my life down, I'm gonna stick my neck out a little. If that sounds dramatic, so be it.

Do these teachings mean anything?

2Co 6:14  Do not be mismatched with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?

Mat 6:22  "The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.
Mat 6:23  But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. So if the light within you is darkness--how deep is that darkness!
Mat 6:24  "No one can be a slave of two masters, since either he will hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot be slaves of God and of money.

Based on these teachings, these parables, is it possible that one can serve and obey the Old Testament while serving and obeying the New Testament? Don't think I havn't asked myself this question and applied it to myself, because I have. I had to ask myself because I don't trust my wisdom and reasoning enough to have confidence in myself.

We had to be naked before we could be clothed. We had to be blind before we could see. Likewise, we had to be dragged before we could walk with Jesus. Jesus could only be with us before He could be in us.

I hesitated a lot before commenting in the way I did here. I gave it a day hoping the desire would go away because I was afraid. Furthermore, I was afraid of being a hypocrite and a heretic among those whom Jesus loves.
I love discussing these things with you all because it's very encouraging. It's possible I'm not understanding some things correctly, as I've had that happen before.

Not only is it possible, but it is required.

We can’t live everything in the word of God outwardly in the physical sense, but we can and will live everything inwardly, spiritually, including the Old Testament.

Matthew 4:4
4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

Jeremiah 31:33
33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

Jer. 31:33 is the blessing the house of Israel has to look forward to after our Lord Jesus has returned to govern the earth. May that day come soon.

Well said Ralph .

Our bodies decay, as our spirit soars, when I think about
Our Lords plan for humanity, I feel like Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah’s
couch.  ;D ;D :o

Christ will do greater things spiritually in us and through us than he physically did while he was on Earth.

John 14:12-14
12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

The spiritual aspects of scripture are paramount.

John 6:63
63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

Helping people is a blessing. I will do so whenever I have the means or opportunity, but feeding someone with spiritual food and riches is of much greater importance and value.
