Dear Nicky:

I have answered this question many times. Suicide is not condemned in the Scriptures as a sin. But in some cases it surely is a sin. However, we must consider that Jesus in a real sense committed suicide.  That is, He said that no man TAKES His life from Him, but that He voluntarily lays down His life John 10:17-18). And He did this on a predetermined day. Likewise John 15:13 tells us that "greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

However, killing oneself just to spite someone else or for no good reason is certainly a sin. But like all sins, it will be brought into judgment and the sinner purged.  Yes, we will all know our loved ones in our future life.

God be with you,

Ray
