Title: URGENT prayer needed
Post by: Ninny on January 30, 2009, 09:44:24 PM
Hi everyone,
I have to ask all of you to pray for God's healing hand on a little girl her name is Hannah Grace Harrison she is in Children's Hospital in Birmingham, AL she is at death's door tonight. She has cancer and the doctors have said that they will know within 24-48 hrs if she will make it. She is just 3 years old. She is a precious little thing. Only God can heal her so please pray that His will will be done. She has been having massive internal bleeding today and the doctors are doing all they can. pray for her family.
thanks,
Kathy :'(

Thank you all so much for praying for Hannah Grace. I'm sorry my post was so short last night. We have heard nothing from anyone today so I have nothing new to report except my son talked to someone last night and they said the doctors are not in agreement about Hannah Grace's condition a CT scan yesterday showed that her bowels may be shutting down, but their are no signs clinically of this. She is on a continuous infusion of platelets so the waiting goes on until we know. You know the sad part of this is that she is in the final stages of her treatments. She had a really powerful chemo round and then this...
The really sad part is it's the chemo that's killing her! In this the most powerful and richest nation in the world the BEST they can do is KILL people with chemotherapy??

I am praying that God will lead the doctors to a better way! I know one exists, God holds the answer in his hands, but what God holds man can't make money from! Is that the bottom line here?

Little Hannah's parents have laid her at the feet of Jesus. they are trusting in God's will. They are brave and faithful. Please continue to pray for God's will to be done and for strength and comfort for the family.
thanks everyone!
Kathy

Kathy,
I have prayed for Hannah Grace and so agree that chemotherapy is so inhumane. I have a 9 year old granddaughter named Hannah and a 5 year old named Grace Anne. My prayer is always for their safety and good health so I can very easily add Hannah Grace to my prayers.
Keep us informed.

Got a small update on Hannah Grace. She is somewhat improved overnight! She had a very restful night..keep praying! I just read a thing that said since 1971 Chemotherapy only has ever had a 2% success rate! Frustrating!
Love you all!

Good news Kathy!
Yes, I have a friend who went to the Mayo Clinic for a skin cancer and they told him, several years ago, that chemo was on its way out. You see that it is still hanging in there.  :(
I have heard it is like having mustard gas pumped into your body. It MIGHT kill cancer but along with it, it wipes out your immune system which is what cancer patients need the most.
My heart breaks for these little ones going through this. And their parents.

Will keep praying!

I'm posting the update as given by Hannah Grace's daddy tonight:

"Hannah Grace has had a pretty good day. All of her labs looked much better this morning, except for her billirubin. It was elevated again, but our doctor believes that this is related to the bleeding in her GI tract. She has not been losing as much blood, and she has only needed 1 platelet transfusion and 1 blood transfusion today.

She is doing much better, but she is definitely not out of the woods. Please continue to pray that the bleeding would stop completely, that her billirubin would decrease, and that she would be able to come off of the ventilator."

Here is her caringbridge page if you'd like to visit and see pictures of this little person you are praying for:

Please everyone keep praying for this sweet little girl and her family! Thank you for keeping her in your prayers. :-*

I couldn't begin to give you this report as well as her parents can so I will say thank you all so much for adding your prayers to those of others who have been praying for this precious little girl, please keep the prayers going up!!
Here is the latest update on Hannah Grace as posted by her daddy last night about 10:30:

"The same doctor that read Hannah Grace's CT scan 2 days ago and told us that he believed her gut was basically dead came to see us again today. He said he was astounded at the progress Hannah Grace had made over the last two days. I must first and foremost say that we serve a BIG God!!! We are not out of the woods yet, but we have had 2 continuous days of very good news. Hannah Grace's bleeding has slowed down considerably. We went from Friday of bleeding close to 1500 cc's to today she was closer to 200 cc's.

We are amazed. Words cannot begin to express the gratitude and thankfulness that we have in our hearts. Hannah Grace is improving day by day. Please continue to lift us up in your prayers. We were told today that we would possibly be in ICU for at least another week to make sure that Hannah Grace is healing properly. We are in no rush and take each small improvement with each day.

Our trust is in the Lord. We have been so humbled by the outpouring of love and compassion we have seen on our family this week. This truly is what the Body of Christ is designed to do. We are so blessed to be surrounded with the believers who have come together to agree on Hannah Grace's full and complete healing. We do have a few specific prayer requests for the coming days. Pray Hannah Grace's fever goes down, pray her Billirubin levels go down, pray for the bleeding in the GI tract to COMPLETELY stop, and pray for a clear liver ultrasound tomorrow."

Kathy,
I am contiuing to pray for little Hannah Grace and her family. My earnest prayer is for her complete healing knowing that GOD can accomplish this if it is HIS will. Also, my prayer is that she may be able to go to St. Jude's if it is in her best interest.

Is St. Jude's better than Children's Hospital? I don't know that much about it. I am praying that God will turn things around for these sick babies! God has the answers to ALL sickness I just pray that the doctors would tap into it!!  In our advanced technological age all cancer should be eradicated---not the people who get it!! >:( >:(

Thank you Judy! You are right we have to always remember that it is God's will that's to be done and no sickness can prevail over His will! Thanks for praying!

Just got an update on Hannah Grace this is some of what her daddy said:
...For the last few days we have been seeing improvements every day, but today has seemed to move us a few steps back. She is more stable now and we are praying her fever will begin to come down. The fear is the bleeding has started again and that has made them delay giving her the medication that could help her billirubin go down.

Hannah Grace is resting and the blood pressure seems to be normalizing itself. We have lots of prayer requests today:
1) Her fever would go down.
2) Her billirubin would begin to level off and go down.
3) Her blood pressure to stabilize.
4) Her bleeding to STOP.
The bleeding issue is first and foremost on the front line. It has been slowing down over the last few days, but it needs to stop. I know we serve a BIG God with BIG hands that can alleviate ALL these issues.

Marci and I are holding up. God has promised us a miracle and we are holding onto that with all that we are. Stand and believe with us. Hannah Grace is such a fighter. She is very responsive to us and lets us know with nods what she does and doesn't want. ...
Thank you for the prayers being sent up for Hannah Grace.... Thank you for your thoughtfulness ... We love you all.

In Him,
Jarrod, Marci, Hannah Grace, and Chandler Harrison

Thank you all so much, this family is so precious I have to tell you that I love them for the support and encouragement they gave to my son and his wife when Grayson was first diagnosed with his tumor. these sweet people stood with them for Grayson and that was a blessing to all of us!

I don't know how there could be ONE worker at Children's Hospital that doesn't know the awesomeness of God! HE IS SO GOOD!! Please continue praying that she will soon be able to go home! I think this was her last round of anything. She has had her stem cell transplants and I think if I'm not mistaken she is finished! If all goes well she should be able to leave Children's Hospital and try to have a normal kid's life!
I know their fight isn't over yet, but it seems she's finally turning the corner.

Here is the latest update on Hannah Grace Harrison:
This was posted by her daddy last night just before midnight

Hannah Grace has had a very good day. She was able to get a lot of fluid off yesterday, and we are just praising God for every step forward that she makes. Also, she was able to go over 40 hours without a blood transfusion, which shows huge progress. Finally, the best news of all is that her blood output has gone from 477 on Tuesday to 209 yesterday, and as of right now it is at 40 today. The doctors was so pleased with her progress that they decreased some of the medicines they were giving her to control the bleeding. Today, they decided to also begin to turn down her ventilator settings in hopes that they can get her off in the next couple of days.

Keep Praying!! This family needs all the strength they can get!

How is little Grayson doing?
Title: Re: URGENT prayer needed
Post by: Ninny on February 06, 2009, 08:47:35 PM
Thank you Steve, for asking about my little sweet Grayson! He's doing great. He had those two seizure-like episodes 10 days apart and now it has been 11 days since he had one, Praise God for that! He goes for his MRI on Tuesday, but now has to wait until Thursday to see the doc. Just keep my little munchkin in your prayers! Pray for his mama, her name is Paula, she's a basket case, the waiting is getting to her! Actually she is doing very well, but still pray for her and my son, his name is Brandon. they are such prayer warriors for those families at Children's Hospital! they just won't give up praying for everyone they come in contact with up there!

Hannah Grace is doing pretty well as far as I know. She has been up and down today I guess, but God is in control! We continue our prayers for her!

Keep praying please,

I just got back from Birmingham. The news I have about Hannah Grace is not very good. At Children's Hospital yesterday they gave her the WRONG amount of platelets! This has cause a myriad of problems for her little body. They were supposed to start her dialysis this afternoon. This has caused her kidneys to start shutting down, so she is in another 24-48 hour wait and see situation. They expect her to be on dialysis for at least 2 weeks. Her parents are so tired, but still remain faithful that she is going to make it. She is responding to them still, but she has like 14 pounds of fluid to get rid of! This is very heartbreaking.
Please continue to pray for her.
More when I know more please Keep praying!

I have news of Hannah Grace this morning!  God is definitely in control! I just copied part of what her daddy wrote, this was around midnight last night:

"All I can say is WOW! The doctor told us this morning that Hannah Grace's kidneys were not functioning. By the time we were able to visit with her 2 and a half hours later, she was having around 100 cc's of urine output per hour. GOD IS SO GOOD! They still put her on dialysis today to pull off the extra fluid that she has been accumulating over the past two days, but she made the transition to the machine easily, and she has tolerated it well thus far. I know of at least 4 people that woke up at 4 am because they felt compelled to pray for Hannah Grace. What a miracle!
Please continue to pray that her billirubin would come down and that her lungs would heal to the point that they will be able to extubate her soon. Also, it appears that her bleeding has stopped (PRAISE THE LORD), but we need to continue to pray that it will not start again. Also, we need to pray that she will be able to stay on the dialysis machine with no new complications."

Yesterday morning when we were in Birmingham the doctors told them it was wait and see for 24-48 hours, those doctors keep forgetting that GOD gives the prognosis!  Her parents were so positive yesterday, even though things looked pretty bleak at the time!
Keep on praying for Hannah Grace!
Kathy ;D :-*

We have received another urgent call from Hannah Grace's parents. Her billirubin is 40 and it should be less than 1! This is not a good sign. It indicates her liver is not working. We are praying for intervention from God in this. I know I keep reminding you, but pray for her and her family! God is holding that precious family to Himself He loves them and we are believing for complete healing!

I always see 40 as a spiritual no., after 40 days of fasting jesus had the victory. All my children were born jaundice because of my neg. blood, they had to be under bilirubin lights and forever needed B12 shots and I thought that was bad.  In You we Live and have our being Lord, please stabilize Hannah and  most merciful Giver of Life hover over her and permeate her with your goodness and correct every function of her little body and bring back the joy of her parents to your glory. You Lord who hate death show your mercy and power and reign it in. I believe , I have no doubt. Judy

Everyone! Here is a good report on Hannah Grace I copied it from a message that a prayer partner sent!
I haven't updated on her in a few days because the docs were trying different things and there was nothing much to report. This news is great!!

Hannah Grace's billirubin level is down another 5 points overnight! PRAISE GOD!

They are continuing the plasma replacement therapy and had to slow down her feedings some. She also possibly has an infection in her lungs.
Please continue to pray that she has finally turned the corner and the miracle we have been seeking has come!

Keep praying!! :D

I haven't brought an update in a few days because things have been really hectic for all my friends up at Children's Hospital for a couple of days. Some good, some not so good. Hannah Grace came off the ventilator today! They are hoping to get her off dialysis in the next couple of days if all goes well, God is blessing her and healing her daily. Keep praying! For those who have been visiting her caringbridge page you know how things are going with her. :D Soon we will be giving prayers of thankfulness for her full recovery!

I have a little friend whose name is Elijah he is doing very well considering they totally wiped out his immune system with chemo before doing a stem cell transplant. He just had his 2nd birthday! His stem cells have started working and his blood counts are coming up! He is still in grave condition, though, he will have 2 more rounds of chemo and stem cell transplants over the next three or four months so prayers are needed for him, too thank you all who have been praying for Elijah! Keep up the prayers.  :)

I have another little friend up there, she is not even two yet, either and she has an inoperable brain tumor which hasn't responded to chemo and is growing. :'( Her name is Ella. They just learned yesterday that the tumor is growing. Now the docs want to start her on radiation treatment! That will be 5 days per week for 6 weeks! AND Chemo! She will have to be put to sleep for each radiation treatment. Please would you find a place for this little sweetie in your prayers as well? You can visit her caringbridge page and also elijah's if you'd like. www.caringbridge.org/visit/ellanorris
and www.caringbridge.org/visit/elijahgseritt

Now remember, too please, my little Grayson. He will be having the surgery to remove the residual brain tumor on March 6th. This will be exactly the same surgery as he had on October 6th. last year. Only this time the doctor says it will be a shorter hospital stay and a shorter surgery! This is my very precious little grandson as you know and has stolen so much of my heart! His mama says that he is going to have a rude awakening after he has his surgery, SHE says, "Grayson is going to learn he isn't going to be able to have his way after this surgery! He HAS to learn he can't have everything he wants!" OK well she had better start with his daddy! Ha! that little munchkin has his daddy right where he wants him! :D Life is just so fragile and so uncertain, it's hard to watch this little boy walking and stumbling like he did last year even though the doctor said it is because the tumor is close to his cerebellum, which is the part of the brain that has to do with balance. He said it may get a little worse before the surgery, but he is a little powerhouse and goes full speed ahead all day! Please pray for the complete cessation of symptoms and the complete removal of the tumor on March 6th!!!   www.caringbridge.org/visit/graysonanderson
we will be updating his page as soon after surgery as we can. My daughter-in-law also posts updates on the other children on his page.

If George (aqr) would not mind I'd like to include his niece in these prayer requests. She will be going in for removal of a residual brain tumor as well, I've forgotten if he said when. She is, I think, 21 years old had her tumor removed as a teenager! George-please know that I love you dearly as a brother and I hope your niece does great with her surgery! We are all touched by each others' pain and concerns and The one thing that sustains us all is that we know God is in control!

One for all and all for one (GOD!)
Love you all,
Kathy :-* :D

Everyone! Hannah Grace has been moved into her own room! She is out of ICU! Her dad says she will be in the hospital for another month! She is running a bit of a temp. and her bilirubin is up a little, but the docs are hopeful everything will be ok. She is off of dialysis and so keep praying for her little body to heal! God is good and He is greatly to be praised!

Elijah is doing well as far as I know.

They have decided NOT to do radiation on little Ella for now. Her mommy posted this:"We are going to do a chemo in Clinic every 2 weeks and a chemo at home every month for 5 days. These types of chemo have worked great in adults and they will not be to hard on Ella. We will try this for 3 months and then we will do an MRI. We should expect the tumor to be smaller. Then we will continue on with this for 12 months. At that time Ella should be in remission. There is a high chance that we will need radiation down the line."

I can not imagine a baby going through chemo 5 days a month for 3 months! PLUS going to the clinic every 2 weeks!! Please keep this baby in your prayers!

Friday is Gray's surgery so please, please pray for everything you can pray for! We are praying that the doc gets ALL of the tumor this time and that everything will go perfectly in the O R and in recovery!

All of you who have stayed with me on these prayer requests are like gold to me! I know I have a lifeline here! Even those who read and don't reply, I still love you because I know you are praying for these babies! How can we not pray? Roy, I know we all share your thoughts we can't help but to pray.
I would never have thought much about children with brain tumors until it happened to my own sweet Grayson! When it comes home to roost things are different! I will never again take ONE day for granted! Each time I look at Gray I have to thank God for our miracle! I thank each of you who have kept us in your thoughts! You are my sweet brothers and sisters! I love you all!

I haven't updated on Hannah Grace lately she has been doing pretty well, only now she has Pneumonia and they are fighting that. She is in her own room but as of tonight her breathing is too fast and they are saying if she doesn't get better in a couple of hours she's headed back to ICU where her parents can not stay with her 24/7 it's really hurting them not to be with her and she needs her mommy and daddy! So please pray for this to calm down!      http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/hannahgraceharrison

Elijah needs prayer because he's getting ready for his next round of Chemo and his next stem cell transplant. Please pray for NO complications! His daddy says "enough is enough!" This will be the last transplant! He is really torn, but he feels very strongly about NO MORE!! this will be his second stem cell transplant and Elijah had terrible complications last time. His daddy says the doctors have told them that there is no guarantee that this will all make a difference in the long run. The more Chemo he has the more likely for complications and other cancers later on in his life. So please pray for complete healing for Elijah and peace for his parents.    http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/elijahgseritt

These dear parents are faithful and have given the outcome of these babies to God and they give God the glory for everything that happens to them. Please keep praying for them.

"And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up...
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
(Jas 5:15-16)
Thanks again for every prayer!
