Title: Data leak
Post by: Musterseed on September 20, 2020, 11:02:34 AM
Good morning family
I need advice . A little window popped up on my IPad
bible truths website saying I had a data leak and should change
my password for bible- truths. It said IPad can give me a stronger
password.  I am sceptical and naive of these things , so what should I do ?

Thank you
Love in Christ, Pamela

I'm assuming you mean this forum because there is no password for the BT site.

This forum's software is provided by a third party which we have no control over. But I'll look into it. May take a few weeks.

In the meantime it will do no harm to change your password if you feel like it. But if the window that popped up has any links in it I would suspect they're trying to get you to click on a link which you should not do. It may be a scam.

Thank you Dennis
I’m not going to change it just yet . I’ll wait and see what happens.

I've been working remotely from home with a company issued laptop.  Our IT security team is constantly reminding us not to click on links from sources we do not recognize and absolutely do not share our password.  People (cybercriminals) are busy trying to hack the data base of many companies.

Rene
This is what the pop up says, quote

“This password has appeared in a data leak which puts this account at high risk
of compromise. You should change your password immediately.
IPad can create a strong password for you.”

. I don’t trust this as we have been hacked before.

Thanks for the info. I will keep you updated, or maybe I will just disappear.😂😂😂😳

I don't like "IPad can create a strong password for you"
