BIBLE CONFERENCE TOPICS: To Be Announced…

To All,
Is anyone coming through Texas on the way to the bible conference, if so and they do not have a problem with it, I was wondering if I could ride along and help out with the gas costs. I so want to come along and meet the others of the forum as well as Ray. If you are, please PM me here at the forum or my IM address in yahoo or you can even e-mail me.
I am thinking about flying and getting some rates. If anyone of you are traveling to Nashville and will have cars there, and do not mind picking me up at the airport that would be wonderful. I will remodify this post once I for sure know what I am doing.
I hope to see you all there.
Thanks.
Sincerely,
Anne C. McGuire
P.S. Susan and Terry, what are you doing during these dates? I think it would be awesome if we could all go.
Sincerely,
ACM

Patrick,
You are coming aren't you? C'mon we have been at the last 2 together, it would not be the same without you Brother!
Joe
-
This is great... I live just minutes north of Nashville.
If anyone needs info about the town or anything let me know.
Since I'm local... do I need to do anything to register for the conference?
-
Hi Bobby,
Send an E-mail to Ray, let him know you are planning to attend, it is nice to have an approximate number of attendees.
And one more thing,
I am really looking forward to meeting you!

At this time, it does not look like I will be there for this one, Joe.

Hello All,
At this point it doesn't look like I will be going; but, we shall see what lies ahead...(We are supposed to be traveling to Fla. this summer and I don't know if my back would hold out for sitting so long for one trip, let alone both trips... Gods' will be done here.) I would love to be at one of his confrences, but it is about 1200 miles one way from here in Texas; I've driven it several times. PLUS, gas is $2.50 per gallon right now, I wonder how much it will be in 8 weeks from now? ??? They say the prices are rising ???
BOBBY, I used to live in Clarksville when I was stationed up at FORT CAMPBELL, KY./101st AIRBORNE...ha, I LIVED in TENNESSEE, on the border of kentucky, but 3 miles away I WORKED on the Army base in KENTUCKY!; all of which is just 45 mins north of Nashville. It is SO green and beautiful up there; I miss it and going to LAND BETWEEN THE LAKES brings back great memories too. What city are you in?
blessings,
Susan
-
Since I'm local... do I need to do anything to register for the conference?
You do not need to register. But everyone who is going to attend should let Ray know, not me.
-
::) Well...I for one...REALLY want to go to this conference....so I will be "walking the plank" this evening when I ask my grouchie ol' hubby to PLEASE lets plan our vacation around it! I have a sister in Gatlinburg and just LOVE the country there! Susan...I used to drive the northern border of Tennessee....I loved the TRI-City area! You described it well....beautiful and GREEN especially in the spring and summer! Let's see...mid-late May....will there be any Dogwoods left blooming on the mountains then? :)
Joyce
-
Susan,
We live in Hendersonville... home of Johnny Cash. :)
You probably remember where that is just north-east of Nashville.
My wife and I are really excited to attend this conference.
-
Patrick,
You are coming aren't you? C'mon we have been at the last 2 together, it would not be the same without you Brother!
Joe
At this time, it does not look like I will be there for this one, Joe.
Patrick,
I am praying He will make this work and we will be able to fellowship together in person once again,
Joe
-
Thanks, Joe!
Same going on out West.
2 obstacles to overcome; IRS and property taxes. :(
-
To All,
Please pray that there will be a way for Susan and her family as well as mine to make it up to the conference, there is much planning already going on.
More of this later.
Sincerely,
Anne C. McGuire

My Father moved 2 weeks ago to Michigan FROM Crossville. Darn!!
Its still in the school year, but I could try to take Fri off. My brother lives in Franklin. So, I won't register w/ Ray yet, but I will begin to make plans and Lord willing my hubby & I will be there.
Bobby, Luck eeeeee!~
We went to the conference in Mich.& really enjoyed it. It was especially nice to just drive home an hour and not worry about motel/airport stuff.
-
That is my one booked weekend for nephews California wedding. I live in Virginia.
See yall the next conference after Nashville 2007.
Charlie o
-
Charlie, isn't that the way it usually goes!!! >:(
-
Brothers and sisters,
I want to go to this conference with all my heart, soul and spirit. Right now it seems impossible, but nothing is impossible with our Almighty God. So pray for the Lords will.
In His mercy,
Dwight

I think I can make it to this one. Will know more in the next couple of weeks. I just worry about traveling in the U.S. as a Canadian with a British passport(dual citizenship)...lol. I went to Guatemala last year on a mission trip with 15 other guys. Going through customs in New York all 15 practically walked on through with Canadian passports like they owned the airport, but because of my British passport I was separated, questioned, fingerprinted and photographed. Very nerve racking. I was thinking if they try to strip search me I'm running. All in all though I have to say that I spent half a day in New York and I absolutely loved New Yorkers. The city I live in is about 1 million people so I was thought that in a city as big as New York the people would be very ignorant but it was just the opposite. Everyone was more than willing to help out with directions, bus times etc. Anyway, I ramble, I hope to see you all in Nashville.
With love
Scott
-
Scott, that will be great if you can go. Haven't seen you much. Good to hear from you.

Hi Scott,
It's funny, last year I went on a business trip to Calgary, I was traveling with a Canadian citizen and he just breezed through customs as I was pulled off to the side for a bit more scrutiny, they sure took their sweet time. On the return trip it was exactly the opposite.
I really loved the mountains in Alberta, Calgary is a beautiful city but my favorite part was spending some time in Banff National Park as well as the Banff Inn (The Fairmont) it looks like a Scottish Castle, very impressive.
Hope to see you in Nashville!

How did it go Joyce? I hope we get to meet you there!
Joe
-
Ok Joyce, your'e making me homesick now! You know that I got married up there and my DH is a West Texan and when he moved up there, he sooooo fell in love with that place!!! (I wonder if he loves that place more than me ??? (teasing) ;) ;) ;D I can't believe that I can actually start PINING for a PLACE ::) ::)
-
My hubby and I will have to wait til it comes out on audio... :'(
-
:'( I guess the same is for me Lori-Marie! It didn't go well for me last night....I tried bribing him by finding a conference in Nashville that had to do with his business and still he wasn't going for the bait...
he's been very good about my continuous Bible_Truths.com Bible study that goes on around here...and even downloads audio for me onto CD's....but he wouldn't be particularly interested in going to a Bible_Truths conference....YET!! :)
at any rate...I haven't given up ALL hope yet....I suppose I could try standing in the middle of the dinning room and crying until he said yes! I really REALLY want to go! And if its God' will....I will!
Joyce
-
Joyce, you know the oldest trick in the book to getting your way!!! Women have used it for thousands of years and it usually works.
or
How about him just going along to Nashville, he can do whatever while you are at the conference????
or cry, pout, and don't make dinner!!!!
Just kidding guys. We wives don't really do stuff like that!
-
:o Goodness, Gena....we are surely not THAT bad are we?? LOL....
Actually...I will try to make this happen...but if I don't get there in May...I'll hopefully be able to make a summer or fall attendance! This is my year of Jubilee (I turn 50 this year!)...and I am finding it the best ever! I'm letting go and letting God this year! He knows how much I want to be able to fellowship with others....I'm sure He has a plan!
Joyce :D

Fot those that have not made a decision yet, when/if you do, I suggest calling the Clubhouse Inn direct number.
When I called the 800 number listed, I got Hotels.com and they knew nothing of Bible-Truths special rate. So, I called Clubhouse Inn 800 number and they also did not have B-T's rate on file.
The process was as smooth as butter when I called the direct line; 615-883-0500.
-
Thanks for that # Patrick. If we flew to Nashville, would we need a car?? Is the hotel right by the airport?
-
Google maps; 4.1 miles from Nashville Intl Airport to Clubhouse Inn.
The Clubhouse Inn website; complimentary airport shuttle Monday Thru Friday 7am-11pm.
-
I would love to attend this conference!!
Is anybody from Atlanta attending??
This will be my first time to attend I'm a little nervous meeting
all these new people.
-
Hi All,
I've booked my flight and made my hotel reservation. I'm very excited about getting together again for a Bible Conference.
Akira, I attended my first conference this past Sept. in Mobile. I came alone and trust me, there is nothing to be nervous about. I had a wonderful experience! That Bible Conference was a blessing in more ways than I could have imagined. Sorry, I can't help you get there from Atlanta, but I will be praying you can find a way.
Looking forward to seeing all who attend.
Rene'
-
Thanks Patrick for that help. It eases my mind! ;)
-
I just reserved my room for the 18th, and 19th. I'll be driving in from Ohio. If there is anyone else that lives in Ohio, and wants a ride, let me know!
I'll be leaving Friday morning. I'm looking so forward to meeting so many of you guys!
God bless,
Jason
-
Hello,
I'm working on the details.......is there a cut-off for the hotel discount that I need to be aware of when planning? I wouldn't want to miss that. I will e-mail Ray if we decide to go.

How many more days?

How many more days?
Hi Patrick,
36 and counting down.................
I am looking forward to seeing you and all the others!
Joe
-
WooHoo.
Just made the reservations for the conference! ;D
However, if my daughter has the twins then, I will not be able to come. The boys aren't due till June, so I pray they won't wanna come early!!! :D
-
Bobby, I've been through Henderson and it is beautiful there. My DH and I had looked into buying land in that area, infact it was land on the actual HIGHEST point in that county! The realator took us up there and when we got to the very top of the hill, we could see all around and it was beautiful and green and tall grass fields up there. We saw several dens of deer lying around as well. Of course, absolutely beautiful and serene.
You are blessed to be so close to the confrence!
We are still praying the Lords' will n this one. :D :D
take caree!
-
It is WONDERFUL to feel everyone's excitement! I am with you all in spirit!
May be one day I too will be there to share all the affection and fellowship in person. I think I will cry with joy to meet you all!
Peace to you
Arcturus :)
-
It is wonderful tosee the excitement. That was sweet Arcturus about crying in joy upon your first meeting with everyone. :'( :D :D I agree!!
-
Hi : I was thinking of attending. I may get time off. I am in Vegas but I have miles I can use so the only cost will be food and hotel. But if I can't attend will audio be available of the conference ? Plus I wouldn't know anyone there - so it would fell a little weird. Will there be time to have questions answered and fellowship with others etc.
-
Hi mrsnack,
By all means if you are able, you should attended.
I would say most people that will attend have never met. Knowing each other as believers gives you a certain degree of familiarity. There is this spiritual connection that is hard to describe, and will give you a spiritual boost for a long time.
Hearing Ray in person also gives you better insight into who he is, and why he teaches as he does. He is a very friendly person and easy to talk to.
There is a great deal of fellowship between Ray's talks, and usually they set a restaurant to met at for meals.
It really was not awkward or weird when I attented in Mobile, and I'm not real outgoing. So do attend :)

Thanks for the info. I am not that outgoing as well even though I am in the music business ( entertainment industry ) you would expect me to be outgoing. I am reserved person in public. What is the cost of attending the conference ?

No cost and very informal.

-
No cost ? Interesting. Every conference I have attended in the past - they charged for it.
-
Dear all,
I'm excited about this conference, on behalf of those who will be there together.
I'll probably not make it there, Norway is too far away, but who knows?
I can't wait to hear the audios, and reading about the responses from those who will attend.
The photos from the last get-together was a nice touch...
It's nice to know that there is such a thing as "being with you in the spirit":
For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. (Col 2:5 KJV)
;)
God bless you,
Eirik

purpose for bible-truths.com; the first link on Ray's site.
This site is a ministry of love. We charge for nothing; we have nothing to sell; we ask for nothing. All we at bibletruths have full-time jobs to support both our families and this site. The site requires thousands of man hours and thousands of dollars annually to operate. It is FREE to all. And our goal is to teach the Truths of God as He has given us understanding.
There is, however, a two-fold commission in teaching the Gospel of Christ:
"...that he [the elders] may be able to [1] entreat with sound teaching as well as to [2] expose those who contradict" (Titus 1:9, Concordant NT).
Unfortunately, many are offended that we would "expose those who contradict" God's Word. They accuse us of being unloving, unkind, or bad-mouthing God's anointed. Untrue. Nowhere do we attack the person or character of those who oppose God's Word. So please don't confuse our mission of "exposing" as an "attack" on the character of a person who contradicts God's Word.
May God richly bless all those who have a real love of the Truth!
L. Ray Smith
mrsnacks, I did not know anyone either when I attended my first conference; this one will be my 3rd. I had conversed with many on the forum, but never met face to face. I was very nervous at first, but everyone welcomed me with open arms as if we had known each other for years.
Come on out and represent the West side with myself (AZ) and Joe (OR) (not sure if he's coming, but he has not missed the last 2).
-
Patrick,
You are so right, the fellowship is unforgettable, such a peaceful yet exilerating experience we have shared at the last 2 Conferences.
Ray gives an incredible seminar with much meat to digest as well as providing great humor and a generous spirit, the hardest part of the whole time is when we say our goodbyes on Sunday afternoon, I always leave with my spiritual batteries recharged.
The other Joe (Florida) ;)

countdown; T minus 7 days and counting. I'm ready to get out of the dry heat and enjoy some different weather for a few days.
We had a 30+ degree Delta T (morning low to evening high differential) yesterday.
I'm very excited about the subject/topic (whatever the correct word is).
ticktock, ticktock
-
Hey Patrick,
I like your attitude! ;D
I would like to go and hear Ray, meet all of you brethren and have some fun with everyone; then have an extended stay to celebrate our 17 Anniversary early in exactly the area where we got married, and to reminisce and to show our little guy of where we used to live and the beauty of that area, as well as to visit Ft.Campbell, Ky where his 'mama wore combat boots...' ;) But,...we are still waiting for the attorney to come through for us so it doesn't look like we are going to make it this year! :( :(
Hopefully next time... :)
-
I once had the opportunity of flying to New Orleans to attend what was then known as the James Blanchard conference. Oliver North and Henry Kissinger were among the many erudite and worldly guest speakers. NOW if I compair what I am missing by CONTRAST with the Bible Study Conference that Ray is having, I feel that I would have GLADLY missed the James Blanchard Conference that drew over two thousand heads of industry and State, for the TRUTH that sets FREE.
Enjoy the privilege, joy and election to attend such a special time and place of holy banqueting! I will be thinking of you with happiness for the blessing to those who can attend.
Peace to you
Arcturus :)

The clock is ticking and Conference weekend is almost upon us, can't wait to see everyone!
We will be staying in Nashville until Tuesday, exploring the sights and getting a taste of the hospitality that so many of my friends say is in the heart of this town, this is my first time in Nashville other than a stopover at the airport a few years back.

Hi Susan,
Thank you for all the suggestions on what to see and do in our spare time, the Ferry Boat on the Mississippi sounds like a sure fire winner, we love our little (in contrast) river here, to boat on a major river will be great fun. Museums and some of the historic music studeos also appeal to me, we only have a day and a half to explore so I want to be thorough in the 2 or 3 places we visit.
Sure wish that you were able to come along, but maybe this fall.
Thanks again,
Joe
-
Joe,
I don't know what I was thinking when I recommended the Elvis' Mansion...since that is in Memphis ??? ::) ;)...I know that you'll have a wonderful time.
...send me a postcard...(Just kidding ;D), I'll wait till I hear from all of you via our forum here.. :D
...so does Ray always have something in the Fall? That would be great...would you know (yet) of the place and date? I would like to plan on us taking Daniel to Disney there in Florida around Rays' Fall conference dates if at all possible. Daniel's 9th bday is Sept. 6th, so I hope Rays' meeting will be close to that date :).
Tennessee is the VOLUNTEER STATE ;)

the origin and nature of Jesus Christ.
God be with you,

Lisa, Patrick and All,
Here is what is posted on the BT home page for the topic.
BIBLE CONFERENCE TOPICS:
WHO AND WHAT IS JESUS?
WHERE DID HE COME FROM?
WHO IS HIS FATHER?
AND WHY SHOULD WE CARE?
Suzie

Thanks Suzie. :)

I understand that everyone is meeting at 6 p.m. on Friday. Where is this going to be? I was planning on driving in on Friday to meet everyone.
Thanks!
- Jason
-
Hi Jason,
I am glad to hear you are attending!
The last 2 Conferences I attended everyone met at the Hotel Lobby or Restaurant, for some reason we are an easy group to identify and everything will flow along quite comfortably if the last 2 were any indication.
Joe
-
Hi All,
Warm greetings and blessing to all.
As much as I would love to be with all of you this weekend, things just didn't turn out this time. Yup I have to work but, knowing that all of you will be together as one mind makes me feel better.
I hope the conference will be put up on the forum asap because even thou I'm happy for you guys we who can't be there are just as hungry. ;D
Peace and love to all.
Your brother in Christ.
Randy ;D 8) ;D
-
I don't arrive until 6:15 Friday evening, you can start without me. I'll be along shortly, God willing. ;D
If I could drive it in 2 days, I'd leave right now (not really, cuz I'd lose the airfare, but, that's how much I want/need to go. Now!)
It has really been an exhausting 6 months for me (crashes [yes, I crashed again; don't tell my mother], deaths, disease, losing friendships) and I am sooo hungry for Truth and Fellowship.
-
Patrick, I can't wait to meet you!
Joe, do you hang out there, cuz what if we are a little late. If you go somewhere else leave word at the desk for us. I am allowing a 10 hr drive (ugh) to get there by 6, but ya never know about traffic, construction etc......
Jason and ALL the others that are going...can't wait to see you all.
Lord willing for a safe trip for all!
-
Thanks guys!
I'll be looking for you guys. If anyone would like my cell number to call me to make sure I find you guys...message me.
It's gonna be a great weekend! I'm looking soooo forward to meet you all!
-
Hi again Gena,
We will be at the Hotel starting at 6 so if we were to go out to dinner it would be probably at least 7 or 7:30 when we headed out, maybe we will just order a few pizza's or something and just hang out at the Hotel. Anyway I will PM you my cell # just in case.
Joe
P.S. I can't wait to see you again too Patrick, last time it was in a (rare) cold, wet (Florida) November at the races, this time the weather should be much better. Mid 70's and sunny!

Patrick, I can't wait to meet you!
Gena, be safe on the road, don't push it, and I'll see you when we get there. ;D
From the looks of that swimming hole, I may just run and jump in when I get there.

Hello,
I just finalized plans to go to the conference. My husband, my friend Judy and her husband are coming too:) I called the Clubhouse Inn last night and the very nice lady had two rooms available at the bible-truths discount. We will be getting a late start and won't make the 6:00 social. If you're still up talking and "chewing the fat" we'd be glad to meet you, God willing ;D

waaaa, you mean to tell me there is a cement pond over there? ;D
yeah, but I bet they don't have a Gator that lives in it. ;D
Just kidding, my gator stays in the bathtub. lol

I know how you feel Joyce, maybe next year. I've been to conventions and such but never had a feeling of loss like I have now.
Peace and wisdom to all.
Randy.
P.S. The chicken bones don't go in the holes in the fancy eating table. :P ;D

Randy,
Thank you for the humor and the kind thoughts, we will be thinking about all the brethren who were not able to attend this time around, I am sure there will be many perspectives posted portraying all of the unique personal/spiritual experiences that an event like this can and does provide.
Now back to packing..........

Just a note to those not able to attend the Nashville conference, that's me too :-\
There will be an annual Mobile conference in the fall.
So any of you that need time to save up or get time off, this may give you the time you need to do so.
Just wanted to give you something to thinking about :)

Hi Iris,
I was at the last Mobile conference, and it is so wonderful to feel the Spirit when so many believers are together. I feel really close to those I met for that brief period of time.
So I just put it out of my and don't think about it too much.
I am looking very much forward to the fall conference, and I hope meet with many of you then.
Love to all :)

Hi Kat! Thank you so much for that info! Hopefully we can make it there in the Fall. (Do you have any idea as to which month to expect it to be in the Fall?)
Blessings my sister!
-
Hi Susan,
Gave Ray your greeting but spared us both the hug, well the first segment of the Conference is over and we broke for lunch, Ray is gaining momentum here and I expect a very insightful afternoon.
We have about 65 or so folks packed into a room meant to hold around 50. Harry is recording an audio he told me he will edit it on Monday and it should be posted perhaps Tuesday.
His Peace to you,
Joe

Hi Joe! Thanks for the update! I wanna say "I hope you guys are all having a great spirit-filled time" but I already know that you are. ;) Greetings and God's blessing to everyone there! Wow, 65 people....that's awesome. God is good. My prayers and thoughts are with you guys, and I hope everyone will have a safe trip home! Can't wait to hear all about it....
Peace,

That sounds like an extremely great idea! Great minds think alike...lol!
There was a preacher that I used to listen to that had those live 'webcasts.' I'm sure that it wouldn't be that hard to do. I'll have to check into that one!
