Title: football
Post by: winner08 on November 02, 2008, 06:29:03 PM
With all the depressing news I though ma by we can have an enlighten day and have all football fans express their team views. Such as has whats and how your team is doing. things of this nature.
My team is the Saints we have a bye today. I am sure all football fans heard about deuce, grant and smith getting busted for illeagle substance according to the football drug list. They used a product that is for weight loss(water pills) that also can be used to mask steroid use. The football league will decide when the suspension are handed down probable later this month when the race for the play off hit. anyway that's my team how are yours doing??

Hi Darren,

OAKLAND RAIDERS, the Glory days are long gone, Jim Plunkett, Ken Stabler, Art Shell, Gene Upshaw, Ben Davidson, Marcus Allen, Dave Casper, Marv Hubbard, Phil Vilipiano, Raymond Chester, Lyle Alzado, George Blanda, Lester Hayes, Mike Haynes and many others have retired long ago.

Their present state of affairs is too sad to follow, besides it's Basketball season too, my N.Y. Knicks, another sad story, well I could wait for baseball, my N.Y. Mets and bypass the Winter Months, that wouldn't be so bad.  ;D

                   Hey Darren & Marques,

You can see why I don't watch too much football these days, it's time they
they get rid of Al Davis, he's antiquated. Darren, they would probably play
better if they brought back those Old-Time retired players. I saw a special on
Ben Davidson, he looks like he can still play.

What's even worse, the Knicks lost again, at least my favorite player, Nate
Robinson did well, if he was only 3-5 inches taller, no one could stop him, he
                                                   would surpass Alan Iverson.

                                                                        Another Lost Football season, Samson.

aw patrick,
that was one of the sweetest things i've heard in a long time. i too loved tom landry and his cowboys. when i was a young lass we would come home from church, set up the t.v. trays and wait for lunch. dallas cowboys and the green bay packers were always a favorite to watch. ya just couldn't beat tom landry.

Packers fan here, GO CHEESEHEADS!

I grew up in Orange County around the corner from Angels Stadium, where the LA Rams once played. When I was 11, my Nana promised to take me to a Rams game, but the next year they moved to St. Louis!  >:(

Well, that ticked me off, so I disowned them. During that season, I watched a lot of Brett Favre, and loved the way he played. He is the reason I became a Green Bay fan.

Of course, this has been an awkward year for me. The first time I've seen a Packers QB that wasn't Favre, and to make matters worse, he's playing for the Jets! But I do like Aaron Rodgers, and if he stays healthy, we have a good team. Don't know if we are Super Bowl contenders yet, but we aren't that far off...

Hi
My team is the mighty Grecians (Exeter City) they play proper football with their feet (not with their hands)  I think you call it soccer. We have a similar game to yours called rugby, but without all this body armour nonsense. Why do you call it football when it is played with hands ? Hope I'm not provoking an international incident here. ;D
I went and watched an American football match some years ago.It went on for hours and hours and went completely over my head. There was an endless procession of players on and off the field every couple of minutes.Perhaps if I come to states one day someone will have to take me to a game to show me what I have been missing all these years

The NFL is fast and furious. They need that amor. Even with the amor they get hurt sometimes very badly. The NFL is Great and I for one love it.

Hello Dave UK,

Actually, I loved playing Soccer, used to play Goalie and Halfback on a Summer Camp Soccer
Team during my teen years, however, although I love playing soccer, don't enjoy watching it.

I would have joined my High School Team, but they didn't have a soccer program, until my
Sophmore year, so I never tried out. Soccer is great for the Legs and Reflexes.

Thanks for your Comment, Kind Regards, Samson.

Yes Dave that's what it is I'm bitter. Not only can I not play soccer but I cant play football or baseball or basketball. I have trouble walking. So yes i might be a little bitter. Also I still find it too long and boreing.
(I) myself find it this way. I sure I would feel different if I was brought up on the other side of the pond.

Nov. football for all of us who are football fans this is an exciting time. teams can make or brake their chances for the playoffs. who and how are your teams doings where do they stand health wise alot of players ore beat up bad.It is a sad moment for me and my team. The Saints have to win everyone of their games and hope pray certain teams loose for them to even stand a chance for the playoffs. Do you know what our mantra is? Wait till next yr. :'(   :'( :'( :'(

Darren,

I like the Baltimore Ravens and they are 8&4, but Samson likes the Oakland Raiders. I feel real sorry for him. Has for the Buress thing I think he was just plan down right being an idiot. I just can't understand people who have so much talent have to act like that. I guess to me in my opinion they should be good role models for the boys/girls who look up to them. It just lets them down and shows them a bad example. Has an athlete who has lots of fans and are probably scared for their life is understandable so why would you put your self in those situations. I was discussing this with a Giants fan at work and he was upset and all he could say was why be that good at a sport make all that money and still act like a thug? He said that his son looked up to him and had to explain that not all athletes are like that. I think that is what made him even more angry.

Football! :P Not that I don't like it, it's that I had to suffer through Monday Night Football, thanksgiving day football, NFL, college... football for 30 years and NOW my husband goes around saying "Well I just could care LESS about football!" WHAT?? After I had to listen to the football EVERYTHING for all those years?! What are you SAYING you pitiful oaf?! ugh... I am so disgusted! Our sons are University of Alabama fans and every year when they play against Auburn University and lose, their dear daddy goes around saying Ha. ha Alabama can't even beat Auburn!  And since they clobbered Auburn this year he's been saying "oh, ha! One time in six years they beat Auburn Whoopee!"  >:(
Grrr... If I was woman enough I'd knock him out! ;D :o  Bummer, I'd have to stand in a chair to reach his head! ;D ;D

Well, anyway that's my rant! ;D
Y'all be good now!
Kathy ;)

Pam, you are right about the thugs, some people, you could hang em with a new rope and they still wouldn't be satisfied with what they have! It proves that no matter how much money or fame you have you are still who you are inside. Sad! :(

Many superstars in the NFL go out to clubs and party. The smart ones have a few body gaurds around them  instead of carrying guns. They go out and are safer than the ons carrying the guns. Why? Because they don't shoot themselves in the leg. Dummies.

They need security.  So I'm going to prop a new exciting security firm.

Yeah, they may shoot the wrong person but even the thugs will have to watch their backs.  There's no telling where the bullets will fly with Dick Chainey Security Inc.

So remember athletes, don't accedently shoot yourself, let someone else do it with,

Speaking of THUGS,

Did we ever consider that the whole professional sports system is run by thugs?

I mean the owners, bankers, stock holders, Networks, Universities AND the players to a great extent.
Ditto the POP music industry.
Las Vegas promoted this substitute for the Lions eating the Christians, 40-50 years ago before everyone had TV and sports bars were popular.  Even the Olympic Games are corrupt.

"Winning isn't everything, it's the ONLY thing".  Vince Lombardi

So, doing our best is not good enough, right?

We idolize winners, but don't want to work that hard ourselves.

Perhaps a little introspection is in order here.    ;D

Big game tonight. Saint vs bears, at soldier field. Man it is going to be tough to beat the bears up there. I heard it will be freezing and maby snow. That's weird. the day the day of the game it snows down here. What a trip. Saints have to win in order to stay in the wild card hunt. The bears beat us in our sec. play off game in soldier field 2yrs ago. If we would have won we would be in the superbowl. Last yr in the last game the bears beat us again. It seems to be the Saints have a very hard time in the elements. They are great at home in the dome. If they cant get a win outdoors they will never be a superbowl team.

PS They already had 3 semis that jackknifed cause of the snow and ice on the roads. we def. don't know how to drive in this kind of weather.

Lol. Well Brett should've never left his familia in Green Bay... Especially to go to (ewww) New York!?! (ewww)

Being a Packer fan, I had to cheer on Favre (especially since GB got eliminated like 5 weeks ago  :() But I think it's over, he needs to wrap it up and call it a career.

Well, Congrats to Miami for the biggest NFL turn-around in history ...

Congrats to San Diego (where I live) for getting some redemption on Denver, and making Referee Ed Hochuli that happiest person in America  ;D (everyone here is going crazy... 8-8 and first place? Go figure! Lol) ...

Congrats to the Eagles for dismantling the Cowboys and to Oakland for helping them out with a Xmas Miracle in Tampa ...

Congrats to Detroit for ... well... ummm... err... at least it's over right? ...  :D

Congrats to HOTLanta for getting out of the 'dog house' ...

Congrats to New England for becoming the first 11-5 team to NOT make it to the playoffs (I'm so sorry  :o) ...

I am going to watch the Rose Bowl today, My alma mater Penn State is playing and the 82 yr old coach Joe Paterno will be coaching them from the press box.

He is one heck of a coach...it is all about the team, his prime effort is directed at developing  the characters of these players. The teams have not suffered because of this ...

Since becoming the Penn State coach in 1966, Paterno's teams have a 383-126-3 record and a 23-10-1 mark in bowl games. The 383 wins and 23 bowl victories are the most in college football history

This guy is so gracious and unpretensious. I probably love him because he reminds me of my itlaian relatives.

With all the rain we have had, the desert is really beautiful.

Claudia,
Let's just say that Longhorn is from Texas. He is a secret agent who lives in seclusion on a ranch somewhere in Eastern Texas. He claims to be running for president with Musicman in 2013? No one really knows his true whereabouts! He always cheers for the Texas Longhorns to reinforce that he is from Texas! ;D

Musicman I'm glad you are letting the Giants buy tickets to the Super Bowl! It would be awfully sad after everything they've been through this year if they missed the Super Bowl! ;)

Just think! Football is almost over!! :D :D   Oh, I mean football is almost over :'( :'( :'(
Cheer up everybody! American Idol starts soon!! ;)

Don't yell at me, I'm just trying to cheer you up if your team blew it this season! Before you know it everyone will be drinking the suds and watching their favorite teams again! In the meantime you can watch ...Basketball!

Ok, so I don't really don't know anything about football teams, I am just bored here and wanted to stir up a ruckus! ;D ;D ;D
(still, don't yell at me!) ;)
Hugs!

Ouch, Patrick! I Really hate the toe pain! (The pain is worse if your feet are cold!!)  I've often felt that pain watching the guy trying for a field goal when it's below zero and it's snowing on the field and you can see the players breath in the air and they are using their little hand warmers! I KNOW that kick has to be painful! :P
Oh well, I'll be snuggie and warm watching American Idol!! ;D ;D

Amen Brother Patrick,

I'll never get so bored that I'll watch American Idol.
I like Kurt Warner and hope that the Arizona Cardinals
have the Eagles for dinner.  ;D

What a great game Eagles and cardinals. WOW :o :o. 2:00 left and eagles have the ball. 4Th down and 10. Anyway I think the  Raven's are gonna give the settlers some problems. Man the qb falco for the ravens is terrific. They say he is a rookie but he sure does not play like one. and their defence is awesome. What a terrific game this is what the play offs are all about. The cardnails just won. unbelievable. I cant wait for the next game. OK who's team is playing. Who's from Penn. and who's from Baltimore, Maryland. It took me a min to figure out where Baltimore was.  ??? ??? I hope I got it right. If not I apologize

I don't know what the settlers did but the Steelers made Flacco play like a rookie tonight, for the third time this year. The "Steel Curtain" is back! The Steelers eat birds (Ravens) for lunch. The Cardinals are next. I'm trying to be humble about the Steelers but its not easy.  ;D

Hey, George, Cardinals are birds too! They will be eaten for lunch too!!!  But I am going to pull for them anyway- I like Warner, and the Steelers were just at the Super Bowl a couple years ago-  We are going to share winning!

Ah that time of year when people go out and purchase a large flat screen TV for one day to return it the next day is with us once more..............

i will be rooting for the underdog in Superbowl....... for some reason they always seem to show the most gratitude for winning........ I remember 1999 when Spurs won their 1st championship, being now in the 4th the celebration is not like it was back then in 1999 when the celebration went into the 5-6 am hours....

Steelrs with the #1 D, is such a shoe in to win, but should the Cards play with the same reckless abandonment they did in the 1st half of the NFC champ game who knows .... always i anticipate new entries to the Super bowl to play with more energy then the returnees..

Rodger

Go Cardinals and Go Steelers.....make it entertaining and exciting. :)

I'm thinking Arizona is gonna win this one...I believe Whisenhunt knows enough about the Steelers defense to put a dent in it and keep them on their heels.

All season, very few Arizonians wore Cardinal jerseys; now they are everywhere.  ::)

The small town I live in has a "Steeler" bar; don't even think about driving through town this weekend!

One of the guys on the radio show I listen to in the mornings overheard a guy, holding a Kurt Warner jersey, in a "sports" store ask another guy, "is Warner any good?"  ;D ;D

I predict James Stewart will win the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) SX championship!  :P

okay george,
i was all about your post reply, since i find it very odd how americans call football football when they pass the ball to the goal via the hands, but the REAL football is really soccer, where the ball is passed forward to the goal via the foot...but, that's another story, THEN, i read the last part of your post and just had to say "how mean is that", i mean, i was at the pub with my husband as we proceeded to scream and then cry in his beer/my tea. i couldn't take it any longer, so i went home at half-time and watched the rest of the match in private. oh, did i mention i am an ARSENAL supporter! have been one for 17 yrs., my husband grew up in london and went all through school there before moving back to the usa. okay, that's it.

i Love your anyway jorge  8)

Claudia,

I love the sport enough to have room for all fans (even gooners). My nephew and his dad; my brother in law, are also gunners fans. Sorry about the jabs sister, i was just hooting it up a bit  :-[.

Arsene is a bit of a problem, since he has never seen a gunner commit a foul yet, otherwise i like your style of play. Forgive me for the jabs, :-* :-* :-* but celebrate the game with us, then back to work for our Lord Jesus Christ.
