Title: Can anyone explain
Post by: E. Woods on October 31, 2009, 03:12:50 PM
1 Chronicles 29:21,

1,000 bulls, 1,000 rams, 1,000 lambs,  total, 3,000 animals. In one day, 12 hours? or 24 hours?

If it's 24 hours, times 60 minutes. that equals 1440 minutes.

If they slaughtered one animal every 30 seconds that's 2880 animals.

How did they slaughter 3,000 animals that day???

Pre supposing your calculations are right; include how many people were actually doing the Slaughter?. 10? 20 ? 100? 1000?, it was enough or would not be recorded so.

Read Leviticus and Chronicles 1+2 to learn about the physical number of those that handled Sacrifices.

EJW,

It's neither a 12 hour period nor 24 hours...the scriptures only say 'day' [H3117 - yowm], which can be any period of time. Same word used in describing the days of creation.

Hope that helps,
