I have always heard that Jesus was born in the fall but heard the other day it was probably Spring. I have done no research as it matters not to me. But Constantine apparently picked Dec 25th to be Jesus' BD as it was the BD of one of their gods and he wanted to make Jesus more appealing to the pagans of the day. This was in the 300's A.D.
I could have some facts wrong here but this is my memory...
