Title: A fun invitation for poets & non poets forum members
Post by: Roy Martin on March 10, 2010, 12:31:33 PM
I got this idea from someone, and thought it would be fun to do it here with some spirituality. No talent required. This is for everyone that reads this post.
Lets all as a family put together a poem or song lyric, maybe both by each one of us giving just one line, not too long a line, and we will put it together and see what we get. We can call it, (The forum poem), or it might name itself as we see it in the end.
Your line doesn't have to line up with anyone else. Try not to read everyone else. I want your line that comes from your heart. It can be funny, or serious, or just what ever,it doesn't matter. I'll start with the first line, and lets have some fun with this. It doesn't have to rhyme. All of us will be involved in putting it together in the end so we will have several, if not many poems. I might even get some song lyrics out of the fun. ;) We won't change anyone's line but we will arrange them to get the poem together, or poems. As I stated, try not to read anyone else's line.
Here is my line:

1. For many years I thought I had it made, but as time went by, it all slipped away.

2. Now I'm learning to die to the flesh and walk with the Lord, day by day

3. And in these times of troubles, one must learn, that the return of our Savior is of an utmost concern.

As I walk in the fire, and suffer still, in the end I know I’ll see Gods will

I stand in awe of the glory God brought Jesus and Jesus brings to God Our Father

And the promise they made to us, it makes it all worth the bother.

He's the is and was and is to come.
To take out our sin, to burn out the scum.

His love aroused my slumbering soul and gave it light to understand, I gave to Him my poignant sobs, He filled my barren land.
